Commander Fil
Well, here is my commander Fil From the Clone Wars TV series episode, "The Lair Of Greivous"
I think he turned out quite good. For those of you that are wondering, I use Tamia Acrylic paint for all of my clones. I never use sharpie or decals. ( ) Please tell me what you think!

Re: Commander Fil
He looks really cool! The paint on top of the helmet was a little unsteaddy, but it was still cool. You're really good with paint.
Re: Commander Fil
Thanks! Ya, I agree with the paint on top, but I free handed the whole thing.Code_Green wrote:He looks really cool! The paint on top of the helmet was a little unsteaddy, but it was still cool. You're really good with paint.
Re: Commander Fil
I think he looks great, but one thing: Isn't he orange? Or does your Camera just make it look red?
Re: Commander Fil
I used red paint, because to my eyes the armor looked Red, but it was so dark in Greivous' Lair, that I can't tell. Here is the reference picture I used.PhiMa wrote:I think he looks great, but one thing: Isn't he orange? Or does your Camera just make it look red?
Like I said, to me it looks red. (Maybe I'm color blind)
Re: Commander Fil
I think it looks red too.
If you did all that by freehand then you are are an artist compared to me, because I am like a kindergardner when it comes to paint compared to you.
(I was exagerating a little, but it's just that the helmet was so nicely done without destroyng the visors. WITHOUT TAPE?!! )

Re: Commander Fil
It looks bronze/orange to me.
Not bad, it's not messy, but the lines are really squiggly. I profess to know nothing about paint, but with my experience with sharpie, I'd use the smallest brush and kinda straighten everything.

Ya, no tape.
5 WORDS!
Re: Commander Fil
With paint that's a pretty good job, although there are some good shots of him with his armor lit up.
Were I a nitpicker I'd point out the unevenness of the lines, but hey...

Re: Commander Fil
It looks really good!! Nice job working on it. Fil has kind of light red armor. Look on clonearmycustoms to check colors.

Re: Commander Fil
Cool, but the lines on the helmet are a bit uneven and thick. Otherwise, good job on this!
Re: Commander Fil
Hmm I agree it looks very nice but a little strait lines would do you some goodThunder-blade wrote:It looks bronze/orange to me.

Re: Commander Fil
Nice job but the torso details need to look more like the reference pic. Also the lines on the head could use some work.
Awsome job!
It is a good job but you could use a sharpie instead of a magic marker next time.
I think it is cool!!!!!1

Why isn't there any NOOBs that can actually read anymore! The figure however is actually pretty good althought i think is armour was a bit more orangey.

Re: Commander Fil
Awesome fig!!! Two critisicsms:
1.Make the lines on the helmet thinner.
2.Try and get the lines on the helmet a bit neater. I'm no painter, but since I use sharpie for most of my custom clones, I'd say use the smallest brush you can, and put tape on.
Other than that, an awesome fig!

Re: Commander Fil
Sorry, but to end the debate, Commander Fil, as a Senate Security Guard clone, was, like all of them, red.Thunder-blade wrote:It looks bronze/orange to me.

Re: Commander Fil
It's good for using paint. I use sharpie (and some decals) for my clones because I think brushes can be inaccurate. I do like how paint gives vivid colors, so I sometimes use sharpie paint pens. Overall it's pretty good, I know how hard it is to get perfectly straight lines without using decals.
