Commander Vulcan wrote:Hey guys, I asked a question earlier but no one responded to it and its know a page back so I'll ask it again. So I make all my decals on paint and its hard to put large symbols on them so I was wondering, does paint.net or GIMP allow you to do a transparent thing with symbols to let you see the decal where the white is when you put it on, I guess there's something like that on MS powerpoint but I can't use it?
I don't quite understand the question, but I think you're trying to say that: You've made a symbol separately on a white background, and you want to move that symbol onto your decal, but you don't want to take the white background along with it?
The best way to avoid that is to draw it on a transparent layer in GIMP.
Also, CG, what the name of the Decal Softener you use? (if at all)

Yes that was what I was trying to say, thanks for telling me GIMP lets you do that MikeZulu I might download it now.

Humbrol DecalFix 28ml, bought from Lendons. But recently I've been experimenting with not using it, and it seems to work just as well.

What about on the legs and arms - does it make a difference? I'm thinking of buying some so I can more easily put some arm decals on my 762nd (not just shoulder decals anymore)
If it doesn't make a difference I don't want to waste my money...
Re: All Decal Requests & Share Decal Images
Ah. If I recall correctly, you use more extended arm decals, right? It's transpired that my designs have come out not bending too much round the arms - more on the flat bit than anything else. If they were more extended, or somesuch, I think I would need it, yes. However, I'd say do a trial run without buying it before committing yourself. Because I could be wrong.

No, I just used the shoulder pads, and added stripes around the wrist in some cases (indicate rank in my legion) - the only reason I did that was because of problems with using whole arm decals.
But, yes, I should experiment with it for a while...
Re: All Decal Requests & Share Decal Images
Hey guys, I just thought of an idea of adding the clone's comm gauntlet to a clone decal so I just did that, nothing really special about it but if people want a clone design with the comm gauntlet on it, you can use it.
I give credit to someguy577 for the original design.

Woopsy.
What I meant is that I presume you'll use extended arm decals. I wasn't concentrating too much. Fail on my part.
Re: All Decal Requests & Share Decal Images
Hey guys lookie here!! I have decals resized and printed on photopaper to see what they would look like on glossy paper. All of this was possible due to the awesome decal maker CG!
Thanks CG!!
I had the flash on so they look way different then they really do. Now to buy decal paper and softener.

There you go!
The trenchcoat I can't do; I'd say try buying one from MMCB. His are awesome.
Re: All Decal Requests & Share Decal Images
Someday I'll have to do a Cad Bane minifig.

Sounds simple, but the 'back views of the legs' are difficult because of the holes in the official legs. I'll try, though.

Nah, I used to have it as 7 different decal pieces, now it's all one! MWahaahahahaha
Re: All Decal Requests & Share Decal Images
Wait, do you decal your mouthpieces or is it already printed on the helmet?
If you decal them it might be a good idea to add the mouthpiece to that decal...
Otherwise, great job!

Re: All Decal Requests & Share Decal Images
Another design by me, again, not very good, but I need it, and seeing as a can't seem to find a decal of an AT-RT driver anywhere, so I made one.
Anyone is free to use 'em! Also, can you give me some constructice critism!
