YT-2000
Year 2000? No, YT-2000. The Yavin Smugglers YT-2000B is coming! Commandeered by the 88th Legion during a battle over Yavin 22.
Re: YT-2000
You're kidding. You must be. It's impossible to make that ship...
WAAAHOOOOOOOAA!!! Awesome, great, *any other words that describe the awesomeness of this ship*. I really CAN'T wait! I love this ship and with a Lego version by you, it'll be more awesome than ever before!

Re: YT-2000
All you must do it basicly re-work the falcon.

I think I remember flying in one of these in X-wing Alliance, a very old video game. Can't wait to see it!

Yup! Just widen out the two 'claws' on the front, remove the pod from the side and add it onto the front, and, if you're Rook, decorate the interior and add a walkway from the inside to the cockpit!

Except, I am not using the Millennium Falcon. I am building from scratch. They will be very similar. This will be my 3rd attempt. I will also be throwing in some greens & browns to add the jungle camouflage effect.

Re: YT-2000
Ah Rook, your ambition is high! But I know you'll do great. Wow, I can't wait to see this ship. It's going to be massive, and impressive
Re: YT-2000
About the same size as the second Millennium Falcon (YT-1300). A little larger on the front end.
Re: YT-2000
Camouflage in space? I'm sure that'll come in handy.
Despite you starting from scratch, I'm expecting that you would attempt to use the same techniques as the Millennium Falcon? Or are you going for a whole different approach as to the round fuselage.

Ah, I didn't see the nose. I was talking about the disc, although I suppose I mean both. Do you have the latest 'Falcon?

Re: YT-2000
I tried two other options with the disc both had issues because of this (see below). So I'm trying with a modifed version form the second Millennium Falcon.
Re: YT-2000
Hmmm, the design does seem a bit odd. I'm sure one of the hardest parts will be retaining that circular shape, as well as support. Keep us updated as to the progress.

Re: YT-2000
My first attempt was using a circle similar to that of a new Jedi Starfighter Hyperdrive Ring. Bad idea. Looked nice until I tried to put plating on it. Looked more like a bubble then a disc.
Re: YT-2000
Heh heh. You might of had something with the bubble shape, just not for this particular project. What about your second attempt? Similar results?

Re: YT-2000
Could use it to make my own Death Star. Second one was a modified version of the first just to weak to support the roof. 5 openings in the disc. 2 side ports, cockpit, & 2 cut ins by cockpit.
Re: YT-2000
Or a Mini, Mini-fig sized Star Ship. That might be an interesting build,
Support sounds like a key component to this project, especially with all of the opening and such.

Re: YT-2000
The hardest part of this design I think is going to be retaining the circle shape while having the gaps in there.

Re: YT-2000
Yeah, it will be tough, but not impossible, use a lot of specialty sloped plates and pieces I think.
