What's a CAGB?

Anyway, not a big fan, to be honest. Each level is pretty boring and same-y, the beam effect is a bit naff, and the chequerboard floors remind me of the less admirable aspects of Zeph's stuff. We all know you can do better greebles, effects and general design than this, so it's quite a let down, really.

I agree with Jinja, it's not really that great. The floors are boring and repetitive, and the only cool part is the laser beam, which is also repetitive. The greebling could use some work, too.

Yeah I wasn't into this contest. I found the Guild Build more interesting which is what I'll be working on next, after my MID-Month MOC.

And the CAGB was suppose to be a little play on letters. Since we're the CABG. There's people with cabbages on their heads. Troopers with CABG logos. Get it. It suppose to be funny. haha. Maybe the symbolism was too deep. I'll spell it out. The Troopers are the best of the Guild Members. The "cabbage heads" are the nooblets that want to join but instead are destroying the community through their infectious behavior.

I love all the levels and the pillars in the different colors, but as said above, just a bit too plain. Otherwise it is very nice!

Really, the "you need to make it to criticise it" schtick has gotta be one of the dumbest defences I have the misfortune to see over and over again - people persist in using it, even though it's illogical: if we all belived it, there'd be no review industry. It's ususally a desperate saving throw from someone who's made something bad and doesn't want to accept the criticism, but of course you're better than that, Rook.

But in my personal opinion if your comments are to carry any weight in a community that's all about building you need to be able to build yourself. I actually checked for the fun of it and in the last 6 months this is what yours (TJN) and JJ contest entries look like.

Ah good point most nice hospitals have fancier floors. I'll remember that for future MOCs.

Jeez. One of you is going to have to grow up. The back in forth is so tiresome. Jinja insulted my creations a while up in this thread, but instead of fighting it out, I'll just ignore it right now, and move on. Seriously, both of you need to learn to not rise to the bait.

Okay. On to the MOC. It's interesting that you went for the funny instead of serious, but over-all, the MOC wasn't great. I really liked the blast, but that's really it. The strange colloring of each layer was... well, strange. It was wierd to see each layer with a completely different color scheme. The idea was good, the blast ws good... the rest was far too colorful! Sorry Rook.

You're on the spot there Zeph. I just get annoyed when I see people that can't build, trying to give advice to others. It's like learning how to play a guitar from someone that doesn’t know what a guitar is. In my opinion, it's also why the CABG Hospital failed, too many people adding their 2 cents that had no business giving advice in the first.

It seems like I am the first and probably only person to say this. I find this very nice. The floor is not that repetitive and the little details you put in there are very nice. Brilliant job . Also am I a cabbage head? . Overall 9/10.

This is a average for your norm, Rook. It's got some brilliant elements in it, particularly the beam and the detailing in each level. However I'm disagreeing with the checkering, the variation in colors, and the craft firing the beam. Most of my sentiments have already been expressed though .

This looks amazing Rook, that gun thing that was shooting down through the floors is awesome, the different colored levels, like others said is a bit of a turn off, but overall the scene looks great. Would the cabbage heads be refering to every non-guild member or to more of the newer members?

Back on topic, it's over all very funny. But I would have gone for more of an asylum look. You know, dead bodies, blood stains everywhere, mad people who have no logic, thoughts, etc.

Torrent, you really must have no logic, for that's merely a picture, and it was a Russian agency.

I like the attention to detail with the fake plants, trash cans, etc.

However, I think the choice of color is a little bit off: 1)Hospitals typically have a uniform color scheme throughout. 2) All the hospitals I've been too are either white or that puke green. (the closest LEGO color I can think of is the color of the roofing in the Harry Potter sets) 3) Hospitals are always clean, sanitary, and bright. That being said, I don't think the bottom floor fits with the hospital theme.

Besides the coloring, I enjoyed your MOC mocking people like me.

Nice job the tiled floor is adds a really nice touvh and the speeder thing is interesting kind of like a mini UFO from Independance Day. Also the clones are simple but efective (did you make the waistcapes and pauldrons?).
