EDIT: Found it, maybe a mod should merge this: http://www.thecabg.net/decals-and-techniques-f10/boatgimp-text-bubbles-t1571.htm
As well as the other GIMP topic, so we don't have people unnecessarily making tutorials.
I'm sure a lot of the new people and even some guildies knew about that.
And your welcome Darmen.
No need for sarcasm. That's why I posted it. So people KNOW about it.
Re: GIMP/Photoshop Thread
*Sigh* I was talking about Sial's tutorial and the other tuutorials in the previous GIMP topic and how people should know about them so they don't make the same mistake you did.
Re: GIMP/Photoshop Thread
It's pretty good! Better than my first attempt.

Lets see... it looks like he got an image of fire (I doubt a first time GIMP user could do that; although there might be a brush involved ), pathed a Commando out of it's image, and colorized/color-balanced the Commando's layer.
Did I get it !?

Hey guys, I am making a design to get on my credit card. What do you think so far?

You could do without the comet. A simpler design is sometimes better, less objects to have the eyes focus on. Maybe give it a layer of grey - either applied through a layer setting, or opacity - for an artsy, chic look. I'd also recommend trying multiple supernovas on duplicate copies of the primary layer, and going through layer effects to find an interesting look.
You could also crop in a nice shadow of the Enterprise-D as it comes out of the glare of the sun... but that's just me .
Re: GIMP/Photoshop Thread
Well, I can't do a whole lot more with it...I screwed up and made it all one layer. >.<
But I do like the idea of putting the enterprise in there!

Re: GIMP/Photoshop Thread
Um, aren't you like... 13? Don't you have to be like 16 to get a credit card?
Re: GIMP/Photoshop Thread
Huh. For a Bonehead, your customs are actually pretty good!
JK, but they really are nice!

Who cares how simple it is? It still looks great...
And that's an epic pic, bonehead! But yeah, get the comet out of there.

Re: GIMP/Photoshop Thread
Sail. This is how I did it. I found an image of a fire background on google and then I pathed the Commando out of it's image and pasted it on the fire background. So do I get an A+.

Bah! Right for all but one step extra . I didn't think a red colored commando existed. Although... isn't Traviss's latest book's cover a shot of rappelling Commando's lit red by some exterior light .

The ships are some one's, J4ke's I almost think.
This is realy a test of my skill of croping in a backdrop, nothing too fancy. I used PhotoStudio 2000 SE.

The muzzle is awesome, but the trooper could use some red tint.

Muzzle flare was simply the... oh, hell - I can't remember what it's called... ah, yes, the Lens Flare filter under the Light and Shadows submenu in the Filters menu .
Functions similarly to the Supernova, only it adds a realistic effect of the sun blinding the camera. It can also be used as seen by ClK .
