V2 Pearch Rock

Updated. Here is V2, using some of the advice from you guys and Eurobricks! I hope you like the changes! It's just as hectic, but I think it looks good that way. I'm posting the new pictures here and in the orginal post! Please comment again if you have anything to add, even if it's only that the revisions make it better or worse!













For PTV II on EB, Medium Entry (16x16, though mine is 12x12).

When Capt. Stormbeard orginally crased on Pearch Rock without his crew (there was a mutiny, of course) he thought that it was the end of his days. Hoever, due to hard work and creative piratical skills, Stormbeard quickly built Perach rock into a wonderful one man island, and has quit being a pirate all together... unless he can get off the rock. He stills has many reminders of his old life as a pirate, but also lives his new life with vigor and happiness!

Pearch Island:

(12x12 with minimum over hang, it should be okay since the contest says 16x16 (I thought it was 12x12, and check once I was fisnihed :pir-blush: ))


Old treasures are strung below the area, with weapons from fallen friends and enemies surronding the island as a fence.


Oversized later for when he wants to go swimming!


Water cascade from his... excess water.


Fishing for food.


His old crow's nest has become an artist's corner!

A good MOC with lots of nice little details. Excellent work!

It's a little jumbled, and the blue handle-thing at the top really sticks out, as does the wolf shield.

It was meant to be a little jumbled, he has very little living quarters. However, I agree wih your other two points, I'll see if I can fix those! I noticed the blue thing most of all while I was posting, it's got to go. Thanks for the feedback!

Whine whine whine, you guys never pay attention to me.

Getting that out of the way, since I'm sure a few of you will make fun of me for bumping this, I seriously need some critics. I want to improve this since I want to do well in the contest, and I'm currently working on a second version, so any comments you could offer now would be so very useful to me!

Alright you asked for 'em....


Ok, firstly there are too many studs on the lower part if the Moc.

And then, there's those white and yellow things that do not look like something a pirate would have...

Also, that purple sheild? Blue bar? Huge brown fan?

And one last critique, that black and white cape looks out of place...

Moc has too many things going on in a small area.

I'm not sure whether you lack the pieces or not, but it's a great start, you just need to cover up all the excess studs with 1x2 slopes and other 'flat' bricks/tiles.

That's going to be hard for me, I don't have the pieces to do that. Can you think of any other ways to do this that would still work?

Eh, maybe some of those small BURPs that came in the Indy Jungle Cutter set, if you have it.

It's much better, Zeph.

The only thing is that there's just a bit too much going on still, maybe reduce the amount of studs, and remove some things that are covering aspects of the MOC.

Well, I think the contest ends in about two days, so, I'm leaving it as is. Thanks for the support, and if you had to live about 12 studs by 12 studs, I'm sure your work place would be cluttered too

I was hoping to see a V2 missile on a rock, but this is pretty cool.

Maybe take a few things off the top, it looks a bit crowded and jammed in. Other than that, it's great!
