Clone Pilot Axe Empty Clone Pilot Axe

Post by Troopa Daisy Sat Oct 17, 2009 2:00 am

I was bored so I decided to make a custom midi scale V-19 Torrent. After making it, I decided that I needed a cool pilot to fly it so I made Axe (this was made a few months ago in like May). Sorry for crappy pics (yes, he is still in the V-19), just want to see your comments on the front and back of his helmet. If you like it, keep checking for updates as this minifig may be for sale soon (I'm running out of cash). Smile

Wow that looks really good, I'm not sure that I like the design but it's done well.

That's a high-quality decal! Very nice work; almost CG/MikeZulu scale. Wink

Epic figure. Did you make that decal yourself? I'm also loving the dark blue. Wink

I don't know if you can say I made that decal myself but you can't say I didn't make it either. When I have to make decals, sometimes I cut of various parts of other decals that may be useful and sort of piece them together so they look right, which is what I did here. Smile

Oh. Good idea. I might have to do that myself. Smile

Hmmm...... If you were talking about the shape of the pic on the guy's helmet, that was from the CW episode. If you meant the decal, well as I explained a bit earlier, I just pieced together decals to get the shape so it may not be the best but its good enough for me. Wink Smile

It looks like you slapped a clear decal onto a printed torso - obviously you don't have any clone pilot torsos, or didn't want to brasso it down. But the helmet is well done.

He was asking whether you designed the decal, and I'm pretty sure that it's the one Wuzzy displayed in the Decal topic some months back. If not, do excuse me. Wink

I really like the helmet and application, though. However, I concur with MikeZulu that you should apply the torso decal to a blank torso. It looks better.

I like how the shaved helmet is so smooth. It's much better than any customizing I could do. Razz The decalling job is pretty nifty too. Great job Daisy!

I did have clone torsos, but if I removed them for Axe, I would have a clone pilot helmet without the console so I just decided to get a bit lazy and instead of taking off the body and replacing it with one with a console, I just put a console on. Wink

@ CG- No I did do some piecing together. Wink

I also think that from your comments that you guys think the helmet is okay but the torso would be better with the clone pilot torso so I guess I'll change it to that. Smile

Troopa Daisy I'm quite aware that Axe and the ARC pilots aren't the same. What I wanted to know was which CAC you got. By the way what brand of decal paper is it? A picture of the package perhaps?

You guys are a bit pesky today, aren't you? Razz

@ CG- I pulled the top of the arrow part of Wuzzie's but I made the swirls on the side. Wink

@ DB- Just because there's one there that looks similar doesn't mean that I can't make it or someone can't have something similar. I mean like, it was in the CW episode, we all saw it. Wink

@ Xion- It was the first actually completed decal application that I made, I dump (and don't finish) the ones where I screw up on or look bad. Wink
