Multi-Forum Contest Entry Prototype Empty Multi-Forum Contest Entry Prototype

Post by Uberlag Fri May 09, 2008 3:36 am

Ok, I assembled this vignette in like an hour, I'm posting it here because I want to know if I can improve on anything, here you go:
Multi-Forum Contest Entry Prototype 2477570506_bfc2dbf522
STORY:
Deep in the depths of one of the numerous droid manufacturers a lone clone commando who's squad was indefinitely killed in recent firefight continues alone through the frigid corridors.

WHAT YOUR LOOKING AT:
A Drone is working one of the many key control panels throughout the factory, RC1142 is inside the air duct, with his gun pointed at the drones head.
(Drone was made up by me).

Looks WAY COOL! But it could be bigger, unless there's a size limit. Wink Blue Arc

Vignette is 8x8, so it has to be like this.

That's what I thought, but yours sticks out considerably in the back, I'd be careful there. I once got a vig disqualified because an AT-RTs foot was hanging off, and their not very big. Wink Blue Arc

You should give the droid some proper colored torso and arms.

It is on an 8x8 base and techinicly we're judging anyways so it'll work. Just keep the finished version classified otherwise it won't be a valid entry ( must be completed after contest begins )

I looks good but, one hour... were talking about $40 in weapons and if other vendors accept no one knows how much stuff you could get! It looks good though, I would just devote some more time to it. Fordo Yo!

It's hard to see the clone. Have the clone backlit, maybe. Use a flashligt or use darker bricks around him to make him stand out a little more.

That is rediculous! First of all, it is acceptable to expand over the edges of the main 8x8 baseplate, but you have to understand your limits- most people don't go farther out than 5-6 studs. Where/what was this contest Astoria?

He's right it, will probably be disqualified from most vignette contests. Chop it down to one brick off the 8x8 at most and make the vent longer so the clone is lying long wise.

I've only heard of them needing it to be a base 8 by 8, I thought that your safe if you build out a bit.

It kinda reminds me of that scene from EP.I where Qui-Gon, and Obi dropped out the vent shaft on the Droid Control Ship. Wink Blue Arc

Ok, I thought it was hard to see the commando too, I'll keep toiling away at it, this is a PROTOTYPE remember, I might make a drastic makeover soon.
Oh and the droid is colored like it is because it's a DRONE not a battle droid.
If you guys had to judge it now, what would you give it?

85% or somethin'. I don't really like the Grey/Tan combo, and the other figure is hard to see. And I don't really understand this whole "Locale" thing.

I don't know, maybe change the droid, because people are gonna think it's an off-colored battle droid. Since it's a drone, use a Geonosian or something. Wink Blue Arc

Maybe make a head for the droid, using a 1x1 clip and some more bricks, just so people know it's not a B1.
