Re: New Member Questions Thread
For what contest? You mean the CABGOII? That'll start in June, don't worry.

fithboy wrote:Not trying to sound n00bish, but where’s the Non- Guildy Contest entry thread? I can't find it .
The CABGOII starts on May 31st!
9. There will be 3 threads for posting entries for each Phase. One in the New Members Area for General Members. One in the Guild Area for Guild Members (AKA: Guildies). One in the Staff Area for Staff Members.
That's future tense, "will be".
With the amount of questions being asked that have already been answered in the very first announcement, I'll be shocked if any Member actually comes up with a valid entry. 'oh:
Re: New Member Questions Thread
Well that's not very nice. We non-guildies can be good! -ish.Rook wrote:I'll be shocked if any Member actually comes up with a valid entry. 'oh:
Re: New Member Questions Thread
It's not a matter of being "good" (I'm assuming you're referring to building skills). I'm sure there are some good builders in this group. Which is why we've offered a 3rd category in this contest. But the number of questions about this contest that where answered in the original post leads me to believe that a lot of new members haven't developed the reading skills needed to enter this contest.
I had another PM this morning which has already been asked at least twice, and therefore answered twice. And was answered in the original post. Which means at least 3 people that plan on entering, Members Phase 1 Category, actually never "read" the original post. Here's this mornings question again (3rd time ).
Q:
A:
Do see what I mean? Read. Re-read. Then re-re-read! 'oh:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
On a personal note:
When I enter contests in other forums and this one, I read the announcement. Then I read it again (aka: re-read) and then I write on a notepad the rules so while I'm building I can check the rules easily without having to log in. Then once I'm ready to post my entry, I actually re-re-read rules to make sure I haven't missed anything.

Q:
For the Impulse Phase can I build something without a minifigure?
A:
Phase 1: Design an impulse set 27 piece limit. (See Lego.com for official ruling on piece count.) Must contain ONLY 1 minifigure. All pieces of minifigure must be included in your 27 piece limit. Note: This Phase requires 2 images (1 of MOC and 1 of breakdown of MOC showing all 27 pieces.)

Re: New Member Questions Thread
I know what rook means, nothing worse then to spend hours on a moc, post it up and find out you got DQ'd by a technicality you could have avoided by re-re-reading the announcement.
I never thought about writing it down which I will from now on.
Thanks

Re: New Member Questions Thread
I just had a thought. I'm not sure if this is in the right place, but can't the 1st prize for the non- guildy CABGOII be Guildship?

Rook, said that is possible, only if they deserve it though.

We did once before but we only had a few entries and winner wasn't even close. Then we did have another General Members activity more recently and Garrard was the winner. Based on his entries and he was granted Guildship but it was not offered as a prize. So yeah any & all members that make it to Phase 4 will be looked at closely for being given Guildship but making it to the final phase or winning it will not guarantee Guildship. We’re still looking at level of Building Skills as compared to the larger community.
I sent admin CC007 my guild app about two weeks ago
He still hasn't responded. Should I wait, resend it to him or send it to Rook? Help!

Yeah! I will try that much harder then to get there! Thanks for making this clear.

Not sure where the previous post was or if you missing half the question but I'm guessing you sent an App to CC007. His the founded and is nearing the end of high school (Study, study, study!), which equals inactive currently on the forum. Most of the daily ADMIN work is done by Legorevolution and myself. Did that answer your question?
Thanks Rook
Thanks I'll resend it to you and yes that was my computer that cut my post in half.

Sorry not going to answer these already answered questions any more. Read the original post. If you have any questions about the contest.
Re: New Member Questions Thread
It hasn't been answered, though! I've read through the frontpage article, the topic and the last three pages of this topic and I still can't find how many entries we're allowed, unless you count the word 'a' as the answer which is annoying because I've made modular ones.
Re: New Member Questions Thread

Contest Rules:13. Limit ONE entry per person per Phase.
*Sigh*
That took me less than 10 seconds to find.

When you get back read the announcement.
Re: New Member Questions Thread
Due to your lack of reading, I see you as a nuisance. Therefore, to stop you from asking such unintelligent inquiries, I went to the trouble of spending ten seconds to find this:fithboy wrote:It hasn't been answered, though! Tac wrote the exact same thing, but you obviously ignored his post.Rules wrote: 13. Limit ONE entry per person per Phase.

I like this guy, grammar-wise and all.

Thank you Phaze. I actually took the time to read all of the rules so that I wouldn't come off as a n00b.Phazezorz wrote:Rabid Squirrel wrote:

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this , but I need to know. I recently bought the POP set desert ambush (or whatever) and was surprised to find that one of the katanas had a square-ish hand-guard whereas the other one had a rounded hand-guard. Has anybody else noticed this? I can post pictures if necessary.
Thanks!

Yeah TLC does random mold changes like that. You're extremely lucky, you can't get the octagonal one in pearl light gray.
Thanks Tac
Cool thanks for telling me that, I guess it's kind of like the P2 clone helmets with or without the little half ball on the back.Tac wrote:bladerunner wrote:I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this , but I need to know.
