No problem, if you have any more questions feel free to post them or PM me.
Re: New Member Questions Thread
I'd say spray paint, or my decal wrap (PM me if you don't know where something goes). https://i.servimg.com/u/f29/14/69/73/21/shadow10.pngY-bot wrote:Another question: I'm going to make an attempt at a shadow trooper. What would be the best way to make a shadow helmet? Spray paint? Decals? Sharpie? Also, how/where can I get a custom helmet (like a heavy trooper or airborne) other than wuzzupbob?
For the custom helmets, you're sunk.

Custom you might want to edit your post and delete that link, it almost gave me a virus.
But back to the questions. Never use sharpie because sharpie smears other sharpie. I used spray paint for mine, but it is a little hard but mine turned out pretty good (But I will never do it again).
[EDIT] Nevermind. Your link is completely safe.

Well, if it is something you need help on, you can PM it to me, eclispegrafix, ^Ninja Trooper^ or Thunder-blade, we are the most active customizers on here.
But other then that, you can't really post it on here.

No, he wanted feedback on his actual clone, not the decals for it.Rook wrote:^Wrong-ish, "Share Your Decals Thread".

Re: New Member Questions Thread
Don't forget Justin. You could post it supposedly in the MOC Help thread, but I'm not sure about that. Or you can wait till tou get in the guild, or just post it in your gallery then update your New Member topic.The_Custom_One wrote:brickplace wrote:Hello

Re: New Member Questions Thread
I'll assume you mean "what programs". I use GIMP (a free download-able editing program) but there's also Inkscape, photoshop, etc. It really depends on what you like to use.

GIMP is the way to go! But I know Inkscape is pretty good too. I have used both, and one recommendation, DO NOT USE MSPaint. It just doesn't work that great, and comes out pretty sloppy.

Re: New Member Questions Thread
I believe it was easier for new members to see and post in. But you have to ask Rook for the real reason.
Re: New Member Questions Thread
OK, so I was wandering where I can get plain Torso, leg and arm elements. I am planning on making a camo-trooper, so I need a grey Torso and sand green arms. I also need a head element. Where exactly can we get all these? I am making the decals myself, and getting the helmet off Arealight. Is this a good idea?
I need help with picture upload
I have read the constitution and faq but I can't find the problem.
I uploaded the pictures of my mocs onto flickr but idk where on flickr to get the url for it.
Also after I uploaded it to flickr I tried hosting the images on the pm and nothing happened.

It's not that hard to find the URL. It's the big line of text at the top of your browser.

I looked over the rules on how to get into the guild and I thought of an idea, but do the MOCs have to be certain things? I understand the stuff like greebling, tiling, etc. but does it have to be completly different types of MOCs? Like a vignette, a huge clone base and a micro-scale model? Also I have this creation that is modular (once I build the other modules), can i summit 3 different modulars as the 3 MOCs? No they are not building modulars, they are models that can be combined to others.
Thanks

It doesn't matter what you build, it's how well you build it.jamesuniverse wrote:I looked over the rules on how to get into the guild and I thought of an idea, but do the MOCs have to be certain things? Re: New Member Questions Thread
Ok Since I am a little confused on the "Updating a post rule" I will edit this one.
I need a simple (but sturdy!) chassis for a military type jeep so I can have something to start and get ideas off of. Anyone know where I can see a chassis? Suspension would be better but not needed. By the way I am looking for Brickmania size (NOT A COPY THOUGH!)

Re: New Member Questions Thread
Size doesn't really play a big factor. It depends on how well you've made whatever it is, because quality should be prized over quantity. Saying that, I haven't reached guild-ship myself yet, but I have high hopes of getting there reasonably soon...and SNOT building so its pretty cool but small...
Re: New Member Questions Thread
Like Wicked said, quality comes before quantity here. And again, I'll use Wickedskillz as an example. When he first joined, his building was a bit basic and not detailed enough. He has applied for the Guild a couple of times and fell short. Based on his building now, he could get in easily, IMO. I failed a few apps before I was accepted. I have become a better builder but I could still be better. So whatever your building skill you have, this site will help you improve to a level acceptable for the Guild. But your description of your MOC(s) sound pretty good, but it is hard to tell without seeing them. I'm guessing the series thing is ok, as long as they're not the same one creation. So, good luck, and I hope this helped in some way.

Re: New Member Questions Thread
Thanks! Anyways I plan to do 3 or 4 part series, but lots of modifying will have to be done due to limitations of unique parts. I will probably through in a few other MOCs. Thanks everyone and I am still very confused on Apoc MOCs. I understand its futuristic and stuff, but what about scenery and figures?
I want to make sure I impress someone the first time I summit a MOC, so sorry for all these questions.
Can we use (for example) a Brickarms M1919 in our MOC? Or other Brickarms? Same with personal custom stuff.

Re: New Member Questions Thread
You can use any custom items in your MOC's, as long as they are not a competitor brand, such as Megablocks. As for Apoc, it's pretty much humankind facing some kind of threat, such as zombies, an invasion or the like. Usually a lot of destruction, and humans struggling to survive.
I've actually never applied for the Guild. Yet.He has applied for the Guild a couple of times and fell short.

Really? I thought you tried when you first joined, well you still get the point.
