Hi eclipsegrafx Here
I am new to this awesome forum... I have posted in the past but didn't read through all these threads. Today I stumbled on this "introduce yourself" thread as I was looking for MOC help, and thought it would be a good idea for a formal intro.
I am a graphic designer by trade. I was surfing on YouTube and found loads of stop-motion videos that my 4yr old son and I watch and loved. I told him we could do our own and since then we became hooked on Lego's.
If I had introduced myself when I first signed on to this site I wouldn't be able to tell you what I am good at since I was still new to all this. After some reason exploring I can say I am good at designing decals... the next step is to become good at applying them:P.
Follow this link to see my first decal disaster and first MOC of a battle scene. It's a twist off of a battle scene I read in a CW comic by Tim Mucci.
My son and I are trying to get better at creating good story lines and learn valuable tips on creating stop-motion films so we can create out own "epic" video.
I hope we can get to know one another better, soon.
thanks.

Hi,
First of all, welcome to CABG. Let me just direct you to this thread in case you're in any need of MOCing help.
Moving onto your MOCs, I'd say your decal designing skills are pretty great. You just need to work on your application a little bit more. Your actual battle scene vignette...isn't that great. The trench and the area behind that look alright, but the area where the droids are doesn't look that great. Emulating the texture of grass is pretty hard to do; I suggest adding alot of different sized plates to make it look more interesting.

Thanks and Yeah The scene in the comic was on dirt but I used up most of my brown on the trench. I just need to start of smaller. I think it may be good to enlarge the trench, forget about the droid area and make the trench look better.
I want to take a crack at a vehicle first though.
And on the decal I figured I may have used too little acrylic spray to finish the sheet so I resprayed the sheet and just need the weather to get warmer so I can go to the shed and work on it again. But I like the decal process and aim to get as good as the pros on here.

welcome to cabg the best place on the web...
now would someone welcome me to cabg.
Eclipse isn't new, he's been here for a while and is now a MOD. Maybe people would welcome you if you used capital letters and didn't bump 8 month old topics. I suggest reading the rules once more so you don't get into even more trouble. -Tac
Ah dude we had great little chat yesterday that you seemed to understand and clearly now you've just proven what I suspected all along...
Noob. See ya. -R
PS: You may have noticed that this "newbie" Eclipse has a light saber by his name meaning his a staff member, do the math: "newbie" =/= staff.
