[One Piece] Luffy D Monkey

Hello everyone, it's been a long long time since I've posted a new figure. Here's one I recently completed as a birthday present for
a friend of mine. He's a huge fan of One Piece, so I thought that it'd be a great idea to create the main character in LEGO.

Here he is:

I love it, very clean and professional! I like the way you continued his hair all over his head, that's the thing that always annoyed me about TLG's figs.

Yeah the hair was one the things I had to think carefully about with this figure. Initially I wanted to sculpt a hairpiece that would allow a hat to be attached to it, but ultimately decided against it as it would detract from the look of the straw hat. Also my hair sculpting skills leave much to be desired right now. So having the hair represented as a full face decal was a natural solution for me

I think the hair sculpted would have been way too much. The drawn out method keeps with the style of the cartoon making the design a lot stronger.

You really did a great job with this. I could even see a double sided head with a different expression on the back like embarrassment. But then the hair would pose a problem:P

A very good job with all the torso and leg decals but still made to look like Lego!

Woot! I love One Piece too! The hair and hat is awesome, make Shanks next.

Yeah the sculpted hair would have been too much, seeing that the hat is a very dominant part of the figure already.

Including decal design, making the hat and off course putting it all together, I spent a good week on this project.
