Terminator Salvation (opening scene) [mech pics added]

The A-10 really is the perfect plane for Terminator Salvation, it is rugged, ugly, and has a big gun.
I resolved to build the scenery without any bricklink orders. I remember reading that bricklinking parts is an addiction...they were right. I couldn't believe how small my assortment of tan pieces is. Also keeping the ice cream pieces together was one of the most excruciating things I've ever had in a moc, which is why I am so glad I finally get to reveal this month long project. This was my first big scene built with studs out, which made getting the dish to stay a bit of an adventure as was how to get the A-10 to stay up. I eventually used all my tan bricks so I had to brake down and use plates on one side, but I'm rather happy with the result.

I never saw the movie , but I'm sure your scene is exactly like it.
I saw a lot of time and effort was clearly spent on it before I read the description, well done.

That is a really cool mini, but I don't remember those huge terminators in that scene. Anyways on the building side it is awesome!

Wow I have to say this is epic. I like the wind from the wing of the A-10, it makes look like it is close to the ground.

I saw the movie, this is great! The missle and the explosion is spectacular and so is the robot. The wind from the airplane is a real smart idea. Its great.

Very nice! I have one question though. Is the plane supposed to be shooting the satellite dish, or the robot?

First, to everyone who hasn't seen the movie. I highly recommend it, in my opinion I think it could be the best one.

I am glad you noticed the wind/dust trail off the lower wing. I didn't showcase that very well, but I am glad you were able to see it.

Also I should probably say that this is based off the opening scene, and not a complete recreation (which explains the inclusion of the mech, which as pointed out was not in this scene). Same with the harvester mech, it is not completely accurate to the movie, but it isn't supposed to be. I thought I would take some artistic freedom

Finally the A-10 is supposed to be shooting the dish. Hopefully it will get away without getting blown up (those planes are expensive).

P.S. This actually reminds me of my independence day vignette ( link for those interested). Is it just me or do they have a funny if slight resemblance?

Glad you like the mech, as this is only my second one. I have a friend who's been pestering me to build more mecha, which indirectly resulted in this.
