Re: A bunch of stuff
Your new title should be: Dark Tan obsessive. Which sums up what all I can say.

GASP! That is a lot more vibrant of a color than I thought. Brilliant work.

Re: A bunch of stuff
I'm liking it so far. A couple scraps/details on the ground would be a nice touch. Good work DY.

Wow I like the look of the mountain. But why the heck is there a skeleton of fire . Did you have all those tan piece's already or did you buy them of Brick link/Pick a brick?

Re: A bunch of stuff
Very good. All the tiles w/studs bother me though, add some more junk/terrain and it will be great. Who will use a flamethrower
on the guy?
on the guy?

Re: A bunch of stuff
Are the bushes supposed to be plants? Or are they explosions.
If explosions I think its an awesome idea. Nice Piece Use.

Re: A bunch of stuff
Why are there grey plant things? Are they burnt or what? Anyways good idea, because I haven't seen many lego Pacific Moc's. It's kinda weird that the guy got burnt by an invisible flamethrower guy, and his bones haven't burnt( black stuff, charcoal)
Re: A bunch of stuff
Cloneperson1, there's a reason it's called a WIP...that means the guy with the flamethrower...will probably still be added
Regarding the skeleton, I suggest maybe replacing it with a black figure...would probably look better and more realistic..Try giving the rocks a more jagged feel, too.

Re: A bunch of stuff
Instead of a skeleton, I'd suggest a human. You don't turn into a skeleton THAT quick.

Re: A bunch of stuff
You've caught enough fire with the skeleton so there's no doubt you'll be changing that. As for the landscape, I think it needs some serious work. You've recently caught yourself in a little slump if you will in making the ground flat, and using jumper plates. Personally I see this and don't know what is going on in the scene and it just looks like a bunch of scrambled jumper plates verses pock marks, small craters, or whatever else you are trying to achieve. I'd go with elevating the sand slightly here and there or just very gradually going up towards the rocks. Flat isn't very realistic and looks kind of boring here. As for color, you've got some good contrast with the dark bleys and dark tans, but I think you should throw in some green plants in replace of the bley ones. This will just add a little more pop to the creation. I know you're trying to get that sepia look with the moc to match the series, but you can easily adjust color levels in gimp, photoshop, etc to keep it that way.
Re: A bunch of stuff
You do realize he is trying to capture a Pacific Theatre sort of idea (as in Iwo Jima most likely) and Iwo Jima was made up of volcanic rock that has hardened and it would most likely form a dark bley looking material.legorevolution wrote:but I think you should throw in some green plants in replace of the bley ones.

Hard to see whats going on. I like the detail on the base, but im sure if someone was light on fire, he wouldent be bones in that amount of time that it seems he was alight. Good job though.

This is very good input.
I already finished this one but I'll be making a new one soon.
You're completely right with the levels... Now that I look at it, it seems unbearably bad.
And for the contrast in colors that should be good too. I'll be taking out the little bushes and replace them with palms. I was inspired greatly by extrator on flickr.
But after getting some feedback from him and you I need some serious practice.

'oh: Me= FAIL! I should've known.......And, I think you should somehow make the skeleton half black, charred skeleton, half burning human.

FYI: Plants are generally green, not dark bley.Star Warts wrote:You do realize he is trying to capture a Pacific Theatre sort of idea (as in Iwo Jima most likely) and Iwo Jima was made up of volcanic rock that has hardened and it would most likely form a dark bley looking material.legorevolution wrote:but I think you should throw in some green plants in replace of the bley ones.

Re: A bunch of stuff
Yes, but Iwo Jima was really just a huge rock, almost. Mount Suribachi was a volcano that gave off ALOT of ash. the ground was dark grey, almost black. Plus it was bombed like h*ll. So thats why it should be dark grey. The Jinja Ninja wrote:FYI: Plants are generally green, not dark bley.Star Warts wrote:You do realize he is trying to capture a Pacific Theatre sort of idea (as in Iwo Jima most likely) and Iwo Jima was made up of volcanic rock that has hardened and it would most likely form a dark bley looking material.legorevolution wrote:but I think you should throw in some green plants in replace of the bley ones.
