Charge the Beach!

A quick MOC that I used to past time. I was practicing the technique of making a mountain with slope pieces for the first time which didn't exactly turn out to be the best. If someone who has built mountains would like to share their techniques/tips that would be great. Feel free to leave feedback and thanks for reading!

Figs are 2 ODSTs, 2 Marines, 1 Sergeant, 1 Grunt, 1 War Chieftain.

He's even smiling in the after life. Its pretty good looks a lot like DY's Omaha.

Good job but Brute Chieftains have gravity hammers most of the time and the spartian laser (I am assuming that is what the marine is holding.) needs to be more box like. Give the Grunt the fuel rod gun. Take it from me I know Halo inside out.

Customhelmet, the marine is holding a M41 SSR MAV/AW Rocket Launcher. It says that in the Halo Encyclopedia (which I am a proud owner of).

One, you call me CHM or customhelmetsman. Two, I said I assume it is a laser.

It looks nice. I can't really tell what the 2 people on top look like though.

For advise you need to add more slopes or other pieces on the top of the mountain. You can do snot, which I did on flickr.

I must say, the lazer beams look really nice, good job on them. The sand looks good too.

@CHM- ATN was right the weapon the marine is holding is a rocket launcher you can see the two barrels in pic 4. Also Brute Chieftains (the red ones) wield hammers yes but this is a War Chieftain (the yellow ones) and they have fuel rods.

No I am sure they hold each but grav hammers are more common. Grunts have fuel rod guns more often. And I said I assumed it was a laser.

The key to mountains is stacking the slopes in unpredictable ways. I usually achieve this by tossing all my slopes into a box, mixing it around, and just building with whatever one I randomly pull out. Don't go for length, go for height, even if it means stacking a slope sideways, even in the middle...sometimes overhangs work quite well.

The area where the Grunt and Chieftain are is too plain, and I think the water is too "organized" don't align the colors equally.

On the other hand, the beach and cliff are great!

I assumed you knew the difference between the two.

I like the slope but why are the marines wearing Spartan armor?

Jackal, the regular marines did wear armor, and since we don't have any other sunstitute, we use the Space Marine armor, ok .

Back on subject though, it looks realistic and the rocky slopes remind me of my local beach. Well done.
