Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Saesee Tiin's Modified Design-Fight Mode)
My Jedi Apprentice, Josan Rool, with his copy of the ship.
From the Wookieepedia Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor article:
Saesee Tiin, not pleased with the vessel's already impressive performance, modified a pair of the starfighters to better suit his needs. He managed to increase the starfighter's weaponry by adding four quad-pulse laser cannons to its usual complement of two dual cannons, which were fitted behind breakaway panels until the pilot chose to enter "fight mode"; this was only done when it was deemed absolutely necessary. In addition to these weapons, Tiin also managed to fit a small Class 3 hyperdrive of his own making, negating the need for a hyperdrive ring unless time was of the essence. He also replaced the regular pilot seat with a more comfortable meditation chair, allowing for a Jedi to enter into their meditations much more easily during long hyperspace journeys.
Jedi Master Adi Gallia flight-tested one of these Delta-7 prototypes when faced with Captain Cavik Toth and his Trihexalon fleet, taking it to the Karthakk system shortly before the Battle of Geonosis; the resounding success of this mission meant that many of the existing Delta-7s were modified to Tiin's specifications. It was here that she also learned to use several Force powers in conjunction with the starfighter, both offensive and defensive.

Re: Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
There's a big gap in the back of the cockpit and nothing underneath the atromech droid... looks like it's head was just drilled on there...
Re: Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
I'll work on the astromech bl*c. I need a better eye for these things.
The gap in the cockpit I tried to fix, it'll be hard to fix, but I'll try something.

Re: Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
Yes, bl*c's right. It's just an astromech head on a piece of metal!
The rest of the MOC isn't the best sorry. The front looks a bit awkward, due to the thinness of it. The back of the cockpit being open like that doesn't look very good. The wings are a bit small compared to the rest of the ship. The raised thing in front of the cockpit is too bulky and in the way. And there is a large gap between the two dark grey pieces and the main part of the ship. Fill that in.
A good start, but lacking overall.

Ya, the front is too skinny, it throws off the rest of the ship.

Re: Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
The front too skinny being it's only 2 studs wide, or too skinny up and down?
Because the reference pic showed it to be pretty skinny width-wise.

Too skinny up and down. It's only a single plate.
Re: Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
Not feeling it to be honest, I keep thinking of Sithfilmer's great version...
Re: Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
Meh, it's too long, too wide and not bulky enough.

Yes his version is very well built. It looks more to the reference pic as well. But that's not the point. I have updated this and I'll post it again soon.Cookie Monster wrote:Not feeling it to be honest, I keep thinking of Sithfilmer's great version...
Re: Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
The grey and white isn't doing it for me on the "wings". I know it's supposed to be a paint scheme, but it's either the lighting, or it just looks bad on this particular ship.

Re: Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
I updated the first post with new pics. I worked on the back and front, I took off the huge bulky pieces in the middle to make the ship flow better, and, just for 80-0, I put a little less white on the wings. Also was able to rid of the gap in the middle of the ship and to add the astromech's body.
Re: Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
The wings look okay now, but the cockpit in comparison is too tall. That thing in front of the cockpit is still in the way. I see how you tried to thicken the front, but it looks kind of choppy because you used all those random pieces at the bottom and at the top you used the pieces that only have pieces on the side and the middle is opened which looks weird. The astromech is now on the side, which I don't like. It ruins the speed of the fighter as it gets in the way.
Re: Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
I see what you mean TD. But I've tried and tried and I don't know if me personally could do any better. I know others could and have, but I think I'm done. :nosmiley:
Anyways, if I tried to redo this again, I take the chance of making it worse, therefore having to make you type more.

Re: Delta-7 Aethersprite Class Light-Interceptor (Fight Mode)
Sorry, I know this is a couple days late.

1. The astromech seems to be in a box, and pushed off from the fighter. Try and draw it closer to the hull, and make that section smoother all together.
2. Those parts you placed on the plate really kill it. They disrupt the flow completely and just look plain weird. Take them out and replace them with slopes or something.
3. That as well disrupts the the flow and kills it. It is in an awkward position and needs to go.
4. The big hole in the back of the cockpit. I don't need to say much more...
5. Forgot to circle it, but the wings. The actually wings are far shorter and the poles/guns are closer together.

Yeah I hadn't seen that side shot. It's a bit rough. Did you run out of pieces? Recycle, recycle, recycle!
