My first project
Hello everyone I have decided on my first project I will make Commander Deviss. Look him up under clone commanders on wookiepedia. I need a space helmet and macro binoculars and some paint before I get to work on him.
Any comments,tips,suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: My first project
Deviss huh, well he's a pretty complicated Commander for a first-timer, but if I were you, I'd get his decals form Kam at http://www.fineclonier.com/viewdesign.php?view=element&areaid=body&catid=31&designid=2119&oid=838165 (in the pic, he isn'twearing the binocs though), and for his helmet and binocs I'd go with Arealights work, which can be found here: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=arealight Hope this helps!

Commander Deviss...
He's a hard one, I gave up out of frustration because of all the money I had to put into him.
2$ for Macrobinoculars
2$ for waist cape
2$ for pauldron
5$ for decals
With shipping its about 22$ to make him.

But that's probably a really detailed, really hard wearing version. A easier alternative is to use free decals, Phillip Morgan's visor guide, located here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/45161, a regular clone trooper and paper kama, pauldron etc.

Yer thanks guys i already no all the sites to get the stuff but thanks for commenting. I also have the red
waist cape so dont worry about that. I also have all the official clone guns from thelittlearmsshop. All i need now are the decals the space helmet the macrobinoculars and the paulduran which I can't get cause mmcb official is closed so it will take more time to get him done any other clothes shops you guys know of please tell me. Oh and i also need some red paint to paint on both sides of the space helmet (since it comes white).
Oh and just on a side note other then Wuzzupbob do you guys know of any other good custom clone sellers
on ebay and how i can find them thanks everyone.

Re: My first project
I just used a regular clone trooper helmet...why use a space helmet?
Wuzzupbob sells pauldrons and waist capes.
And the only clones that aren't terribly expensive that are custom are ones made with sharpie and look terrible, I would customize them yourself.

Good point. I HATE the people that take a head of an action figure and put it onto a minifig torso .

I dont know if this doesnt have to do anything with this subject (possibly could) but can u glue decals on cause when i look at minifigs with decals (in pictures) most of them look like they were glued on. (This probaly is a dumb question.)

You can, but most decals are waterslide, you get them wet, and once applied they stick as they dry, then to keep them on there you apply decal sealant once completly dry.

Yes you can glue them on, but applying them properly works best. The best Website I know of for buying/talking about decals is: http://fineclonier.com/ I think you'll find what you're looking for there.

Re : My first project
Oh yea does the minifig have to have nothing on the torso and all the other parts to put on any kind of decal??Or just some decals???

It kinda depends on the decal, generally you want the torso plain, and you can buy plain white torso's which is what I do. Some people use Brasso to remove the printing, but the thought of defacing a perfectly good Clone Torso makes me sick!

Re: My first project
I glue 'decals' onto the torso. It's just printed paper stuck on with a gluestick. Works pretty well too; if you look at my custom clones, you'll notice that they don't look ugly on account of the paper instead of using waterslide.

Re: My first project
I get transparent sticker paper, print torso on it, put it on blank white torso, then I put clear packaging tape over top of the torso, works fabulously.
