A Bridge too far Empty A Bridge too far

Post by PhiMa Fri Nov 05, 2010 7:47 pm

The title has no real connection with the actual scene, I just thought it sounded cool Razz

March 28th, 1945. A team of British paratroopers sneak through enemy lines in western germany to destroy several FlaK 88 emplacements keeping the XXX Corps' Tanks from moving forward. Using the several grenades and covering fire by a Bren LMG, the three soldiers hope to take out any infantry and make the gun unusable using more grenades.

Inspired by Lego Junkie's Vignette. On a 32x64 Baseplate, this is my second largest Diorama to date. The backstory is entirely made up. Once again, I used up all my grass pieces Razz Berets & helmets by brickforge, Decals by Milan, Bren Gun by DarthPineapple and other weapons by brickarms Smile

Enjoy!

I like it, but just a few nit picks. 1st, the dark grey sides of the bridge should be tiled, because just about everything else but that is snot. 2nd, make the trees at different heights, not all trees are the same size. Wink And finally, make the grass at the bottom at a bit more staggered heights, it's not quite visible enough I don't think... Other than those small things, excellent MOC. Wow this thing looks

That is really awesome! I can't think of anything to make it better, besides straitening out the six stud long, flat tile in the fourth picture. Hm... how do the Englishmen not notice the Germans?

Pretty awesome build, love all the small details and the dedication to the grass.

Only nitpick is that the road doesn't seem wide enough for 2 lanes.

How did you make the sandbags curved? I've been trying to do that but it won't turn? Run away! Embarassed

The short sandbags are alternated 1x2 plates and round 1x1 bricks. Castle builders have been doing this for years.

I absolutely LOVE this MOC. I think that your bridge is amazing, not to mention your artillary cannon. I also really liked the fact that you did the details of the dirt forming a ramp to the bridge, and also your rock cliff!

I bet that grass made you frustrated. Razz

Yeah.

I think you have enough 2x4s to at least make the outside bley. Razz
