The CABG Corps 2011
Return of the Corps!
Ah yes that’s right the Corps have returned! However these aren’t your Grandpa’s Corps from 2008. The Corps are being reborn.
The CABG Forum’s Legion and Corps System:
The new CABG Corps are user groups. These user groups are not permanent but should be considered carefully by each member. Users that wish to change user groups should only do so the week prior and of nominations and elections which will be posted in their Corps areas and on the portal page to remind users. Users that have not joined a user group may join one of the 4 user groups at any time.
The CABG will have 4 Corps:
List of Corps
Planetary Defender Corps (PDC) (Builders that specialize in Non-Clone Sub-factions MOCs & Minifigures)
Clone Commanders Corps (CCC) (Builders that specialize in Clone Army MOCs & Minifigures)
Sith Supremacy Corps (SSC) (Builders that specialize in Sith MOCs & Minifigures)
Jedi Alliance Corps (JAC) (Builders that specialize in Jedi MOCs & Minifigures)
How it works:
The whole Guild falls under 4 Corps leaders. 4 leaders will be elected by CABG Guild Members, one for in each Corps with elections every 3 months to keep things fresh.
Each Corps user group can have unlimited members. But each member can only be a part of one Corps.
How to join:
Users select which Corps user group that they want to be a part of by:
Click Usergroups
Select Usergroup
Click View Information
Click Join Group
ADMIN will refresh users list almost daily.
Pick ONLY ONE!
In-Corps Challenges & CABG Corps Challenges:
So basically 4 challenges (contest with or without prizes depending on sponsors) a year between Corps. Each Challenge will be posted by the leader of the Corps who’s turn it is “host” (note cycle will be posted at bottom of page). If no prizes, then just bragging rights for 3 months. Open to all Guild Members that have joined a corps. Non-Guild Members can join a user group but will not be able to compete in Corps Challenges/Contests (see user level permissions).
Challenges between corps will be simple enough that they could be completed in all of the Corps regardless of their genera. For example: Build an outpost for your Corps genera no larger then 48x48. Must include at least 4 minifigures from your genera.
Using the voting system like MOC Madness on FBTB ( http://www.fbtb.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=4092 ), Guild Members vote for the best MOC in each Corps, and then the top MOC from each Corps battles in the finals. Winner claims bragging right (and maybe prizes depending on how well this new format is received and if we have members that wish to sponsor events) for their corps for the next 3 months!
3 Month Cycle for Corps Leaders:
First Month:
1-15th of month: Nominations and Elections for Corps Leaders
15th- to End of Month: Posting of Internal Corps Challenge
Second Month:
1-15th of Month: Posting of CABG Inter-Corps Challenge
15th- to End of Month: Empty
Third Month:
1-15th of Month: End/Voting on Internal Corps Challenge
15th- to End of Month: End/Voting on CABG Inter-Corps Challenge
Additional information:
Launch date begins a week before our 3rd Anniversary (Jan 8th, 2011). Members can select which Corps to join and then nominations and elections will be held to pick a leader for your Corps based on who has joined which Corps user group.
Old Legion and Corps system will be archived for posterity.

This basically changes the “exclusive” dying corps system into an inclusive “come as you are” system. Hope everyone enjoys the new system. I know seems like a lot of info but basically it breaks down like this:
Select user group, vote for leader, battle in your Corps, battle everyone, do it all again!
Note: Amendments and changes may be made over the next few weeks to help clarify questions or issues that may arise.

Re: The CABG Corps 2011
Wait, does this mean we can't make a legion anymore? I miss looking at everyone's legions and I was going to make one in the future.

I would think that the clone group would cover the Legions.

Yea, but there's nothing about the Legions, or the old Legion topics there, nor are they in the CAC.Commander Halen wrote:Hazard with a Glove wrote:Yea, where are the Legions?!

"Old Legion and Corps system will be archived for posterity. "
It would be nice tough to make a tread in your Corps Area with maybe about your faction/Legion whatever but we'll cross that road in a bit. We're in transition right now.

Re: The CABG Corps 2011
Now when you mean "archived fo rposterity" does that mean we can't post anymore or we can?
Re: The CABG Corps 2011
He means they took them down and locked 'em away in the Guild area like they do everything else
Re: The CABG Corps 2011
Yea... I'm pretty sure Rook means that you can only do it if you're in guild, as to why it's in guild member area. Not that it matters, since you have to be in guild before you do one anyways.

Re: The CABG Corps 2011
Rook, just encase you did not know we can still post in the Legion archives. I'm not sure if that's intended or what but I just wanted to be sure.

Re: The CABG Corps 2011
Yeah I left it open so that current Legion/Corps stuff could get wrapped up. In regards to other above comments. Legions and Corps could only be created by Guild Members in the past, so I seems ok to that only Guildies could access their own content. Besides there's nothing keeping the users from doing the same or similar in Corps 2.0 section. The main difference is that instead of only 4 users per Corps there will be unlimited number of users per Corps. Also many users are more interested in Sub-factions (see Planetary Defense Corps) this will allow them to create Sub-factions aka Legions in this genera and still be active in the "Legion/Corps" style system. Like I've said before we're taking a very "exclusive" part of this forum and making in more diverse and accessible to more members. I'm still in process of working out with the staff too if this section will be a Guildies only area or All Members. I'm hoping All Members Area but I'm not sure how the other staff feel about this yet. So it's still pending a vote. Voting in regards to Corps activity would still be held in the Guild Area because this would help prevent voter tampering.
Re: The CABG Corps 2011
Okay, thamks. Vote for All users because I want to join these corps and have fun. Oh, also for the non-planetary corps, does that mean you can post stuff about the Confederacy and maybe make your own Separatist Faction?
