Andrew Carol built a working replica of the Antikythera Mechanism astronomical computer that dates back to 150 BC. The design was discovered in a shipwreck and is now brought to function for the first time — at least in LEGO. The video below is simply astounding. You can read more about it on New Scientist TV.

That's crazy! I've built sliding roofs, doors and walking legs with Technic but this is just awesome!

Anybody read MAKE magazine? They did a similar special in the magazines on one they built, and showed how to make a satellite with the NXT LEGO parts. This is mind boggling though. Truly amazing.

Wow! I have never seen anything like it! It looks truly complex, and I bet it was a hard build. It is truly amazing what we can do with Lego... The possibilities are endless!
