PzKpfw VI Ausf. H 'Tiger I' SdKfz 181

THE german heavy tank armed with an 8.8cm KwK and up to 120mm armour produced and used during WWII. It was dreaded by almost any allied tanker, seeing as it's primary armament could shoot further than pretty much anything and allied shells just bounced off of the armour. It was the answer to unexpected Soviet armour but due to expensive and labour intensive production as well as material and time consuming, only 1,347 were built.


My model Some credit to Pigletciamek and Justsuper9. It features a rotatable turret, suspension (other picture), moveable gun and opening hatches at the front. The 'roof' is also removable and I may think about adding an interior.

I'll explain it quickly. That's basically it's official name, and the Tiger is just the nickname

PzKpfw VI= Panzerkampfwagen (Armoured fighting vehicle) Six (After 5 other models, Panzer I-IV and the Panther)
Ausf. H = Ausführung H (Model H/ Mark VIII in British spelling)
Tiger 'I' because there was also a Tiger II
and SdKfz = Sonderkraftfahrzeug (Special vehicle, all military vehicles in germany had a SdKfz number, to keep things organized )
