Halo Figures Empty Halo Figures

Post by Tac Sun Jan 23, 2011 2:10 pm

As I'm sure y'all know, I love hardsuits. There's a couple of frames out there (Zeessi's one turned into a popular fad last year), but I hate using something that isn't my own. I want the hardsuits to be 100% me. That's when I began working on these. I started with a grey one, then a black one, then a second grey one (Which I then added some red/dark red to). I was playing Reach when I saw the resemblance. Halo figures are hard. There's one armour from BF and about 2-3 different vests from Lego, limiting what you can do in minifigure scale. It suddenly hit me. I got some helmets and more parts and turned them into Spartans. I was very pleased with them, but felt they were missing something. An enemy. That was when the elite was born. The second version of the Elite is one my Flickr (My first one didn't last 3 minutes), but it was too big. I spent about 2 hours this morning trying to make him short and I'm finally happy with the result! Enough of me going on, time for the reason you clicked the link, pictures:

Halo Figures 5380687258_3a7c0ffae3

This is the Elite compared to my favourite Spartan, you can see it's more or less to scale.

Halo Figures 5380784642_f406708346

The Elite showing what to do if someone wears the same dress as you, assassinate them.

All four figures are based on my new frame:

Halo Figures 5380088427_80318c76b8

I've noted the different parts on Flickr, click the photos to see them.

Thank you for viewing. Wow this thing looks

See if you can change the shoulders of the Elite and the tile on its chest to a different color. Remember Elites like to have fancy ornaments with them. Wink

Also I must say these have been done very nicely and its a real pity that the energy sword doesn't really fit in with the size of the Elite. Surprised

With the Spartans were you trying to make a certain helmet design or were you just designing something of your own? Smile

Hey Tac you would like us to give you credit correct? If yes then how. By just saying ,"Hey this is Tacs hardsuit design". Or would you rather a link?

Oh by the way this is one of your best hardsuits yet. It looks like the spartans onthe front of the Halo Reach cover.(I have never played Halo so I am not sure about the Alien.)

In assassination the Elites tend to use them like daggers, so I like how small it is, even if it isn't accurate. Smile

I've got a fourth one that's based on a helmet, but these are just my designs I thought looked Halo-y.

sorry for spam.... Anyways I just realized that those aren't grunts (maybe I should read more...) and actually I have a change of mind. I like the humans.

Cool I'd like to see it. And fyi, the energy swords that the Elites use in assassinations are actually smaller sized energy daggers that fit on the wrist (they're not holding it) so if you could attach one of the BA energy swords to its wrist that would be cool. Smile

Never ever ever, ask if someone is going to sell you MOC's.

Well, the Elite design is really nice, but I still kind of prefer Saber Scorpion's design because it looks a little bit more accurate, but that is just me. The spartans I really don't like, they look almost nothing like spartans. I know you wanted to be original, and the elite looks really nice, but the spartans are not doing it for me. Here is a tip: make the spartans using Brickforge armor, then get a small vent piece and cut the middle out, then put it onto the legs assembly of a normal figure, and finally put the rest of the body on top. This will make the spartan seem bigger than a normal human, like they are in the game. Here is a link.

This has the vent design thing.

Yah it will but he wanted that to be his hardsuit and like he said. He only likes using something if it 100% his. That idea is saber scorpians.
I think these spartans are much better than the ones from brickforge.

Oh, and the vent idea is M0ndaynoodle's idea.

It's ok CJ, I was just stating my opinion. Yes danester, I know Saber Scorpion does decal his figures alot, but I like them that way. Tac, to be honest, this Elite is really cool, but it would be even cooler if you had a few small decals on him to show his eyes and face.

BTW, I'm still going to make some grunts and maybe a big Warthog, but from now on I'm not caring about accuracy. My new stuff will look pretty much the same as Halo, just a bit different.

Also, mine's 3D and original. Brick-built Hardsuits > Stickers and overused BF.
