Jedi Temple Rooms.
Well I have seen quiet a few Jedi Temples some Large others no so large. I decided to try my hand at one. After looking around the internet I found the one that most resembled and was my Favorite turned out to be this one. http://www.thecabg.net/t6955-jedi-briefing-room?highlight=jedi+temple
So after contacting Eclipse I went out to work. I eventually was going to end up with only one floor for the entire area. Then decided to do a higher level above the library. Shelves were inspired by Eclipse. Eventually I added a small training room off to the left. Here it is.
The training room. You might be wondering WTF is Yoda? Well even he needs a break.
Another view.
Me and my whole family for some reason loved this view.
Higher level shelves.
Even on his break he can't have down time. What a shame.
Sorry about the blur but I couldn't resist not haveing this shot.
Originally there was nothing here but Eclipse suggested their be some design here. Very painfull.
Incase you couldn't tell what this was.

Re: Jedi Temple Rooms.
Wow, these rooms are really something quite special! That one shot that you and is definitely a good one. By the way, is this all one big moc or are they separate? If it is all one moc, can you take a picture of it? Overall, I absolutely love it.

Do you mean did I build the whole temple? No I didn't. But if you mean are these connected. Then yes they are.
Re: Jedi Temple Rooms.
Need to get some better lighting. Buy full spectrum lamps or take it to a well lit room to shoot your pictures. Nice use of helmets on stairs.
Re: Jedi Temple Rooms.
You're certainly on to something here. Id say tile or snot out the few remaining studs you've left in the windowsills and stairs. Add some more pilars and colorful decorative architecture topped with a little more lighting and it will yield more eye candy in the moc. I like what you did with the statue heads.
Re: Jedi Temple Rooms.
Thank you. I tried to add more but ran out of pieces. Maybe I will have to revisit in a month or two when I can get more pieces.legorevolution wrote:You're certainly on to something here. Thank you. I have some but with the tiles it made a glare. I even tried putting paper in front of the light source but it still had a glare.Rook wrote:Need to get some better lighting. Buy full spectrum lamps or take it to a well lit room to shoot your pictures. Nice use of helmets on stairs.

A white pillow case will diffuse the light better then paper.

Ok then i might upload pictures latter if it is enough.
Re: Jedi Temple Rooms.
As others said better lighting would really help, but from what I can see there are many nice details all around. Some more wall details would help a bit, and smoothing out the rest of the studded areas. It's a great start though, and if you fix the lighting, the shots will look even better. I like were you're headed with this, and good luck!

Awesome, would you be able to post a picture of these rooms together then?
Re: Jedi Temple Rooms.
Very nice. Idea, but maybe to ambitious: make a part of that grand hallway. With all the pillars and stuff. Nice work on the library.

To avoid glare you have to carefully position the camera and lighting source so the reflected light doesn't bounce back to the camera. You still get some off of curved pieces but I find this gives the image depth. The main thing is you don't want a huge light spot on a flat wall.
Note this is just a classic camera angle and lighting that I've adjusted for my own style of shooting.
BLUE: Camera 15 degree angle above MOC pointing at MOC.
GREEN: Primary light source 45 degrees right of camera and 45 degree angle above MOC pointing at MOC.
RED: Secondary light source 15 to 45 (I drew 90) degrees left of camera and 30 degree angle above MOC pointing at MOC and notably this light should be lesser on watts or further away from MOC.
Here's the classic portrait lighting that above is based on and it works well for most MOCs.
Basically just adjust any and all of these angles until you find one with the least light reflected back to the camera.

Just as soon as I can find some place to plug my lamps into I can give that a try.Rook wrote:C.J.Cutrone9 wrote:Thank you. I have some but with the tiles it made a glare. I even tried putting paper in front of the light source but it still had a glare.

Re: Jedi Temple Rooms.
Yeah it's like the first 3-4 images have ok lighting and then the last 3-4 are too dark. Looking to see what you can unleash next. I'm noting a steady increase in detail in your MOCs.
Re: Jedi Temple Rooms.
This turned out great and making me want to get off my *** to start work on mine.
There are definite improvement spots but I think thats the fun of it. I know you mentioned running out of parts, maybe next time you can focus on one room at a time and focus your resources on that.
You told me you didn't have bley tiles but LegoRev gave me an idea that I didn't think about. Snot stairs. I would really like to see added pillars as well and some more color.
I was fortunate enough to see the WIP pics and I think the quality of those pictures were alot better and the lighting was spot on. I know it was different angles but go for that same amount of lighting.
Lastly, if one sheet of paper doesn't work, add more. I know that for my set up I use multiple sheets of tracing paper for a more gradual control on the glare.
Another tip (from Jared's book) using cut out milk gallons. They are translucent and thick enough to diffuse alot of the lighting.
Awesome job here!

Yes. I am bad about that. I might take 3 pictures during the day. Put the camera down come back in an hour when it is dark thinking I can just turn another light on. And thank you

The snot thing would be cool, And the multiple peices of paper might help. I should be uploading some pictures within the hour. Soon as I can find my camera.
Edit: Found it.
This is decent lighting in my mind.
Per request Overview shot.
I got so tired of the figs falling over I just left them out.
Up Up and away!
Never mind.
Yus. I got this shot with good lighting AND no Blur.
The stairs.
Re: Jedi Temple Rooms.
Ah loving it! Plate the stairs and the top edge of the walls and it's almost flawless! PS: I see few loose plates give them an extra push into place.
Re: Jedi Temple Rooms.
This. Is. Awesome! Great work on the temple rooms, and the latest pics are superb! Great job on this, do you plan on making any other rooms?

Hmm. I am going to have to hunt them down.

Thank you. I do plan on doing more rooms but not connected. One no more plates. Two no more wall pieces.
