Possible Brickfair2012 dio.
Well I am more than likely going to BF 2012 and hope to display something there. If I can I plan on it being this.. As of now it is a WIP. I just ran out of pieces to make it and hope to be getting some more soon by trading and ordering it. I constructed it of multiple 16x16 sections and made 10.... So here it is AON.
No I plan to add more of the "field" more uneven terrain and of course figs... You can see a couple of them here...
What I plan on placing around the entire "field" I have estimated around 27 more green lightsaber blades than I have... Trade anyone?
Why there isn't more of the "field" I gots no more plants.
Advice is welcome!

I think a trans blue bar would look better against the green grass.

This looks pretty good so far. The grass seems too uniform to me though, the same could be said about those plant thingies. Also, I found a better way to make a fence the those bars that you are using. I'll take a quick picture of it when I get a chance and post it in this thread.

I was going for the accuracy of the acctual thing over looks. The real thing can be seen in the CW episode where Sugi and Embo were first seen.. Forgot the name of the episode...

The grass is going to have a fence all around it to make it stop where it is... The plant thingies acctually aren't uniform but in the pics given I can see how they look uniform...
I would like to see what you are talking about.. Thanks!

Well, it looks promising and the plants look pretty good as well. One thing, are you planning on using those figures on the left of the picture?

Yes however I plan on switching out the child legs on the one farthest to the right.
Re: Possible Brickfair2012 dio.
OK new update. I am now officially out of EVERY part I need... Besides the wall pieces...
Here are some newer pics. I added a playing function for the heck of it.
You might, might not be able to see it.
You should be able to guess what it does...

This looks like a promising project... But just remember, small details make all the difference. There's no point making a big MOC if it doesn't have enough detail. I'm not saying that it won't have enough detail, I'm just reminding you to keep it in. Also, are you planning on doing a full scale clone base back there?

Not a full scale but very close. I looked at brickfair last night and the biggest a MOC can be is 99x99... I had plans to make it bigger but I guess I can't make it as big as I hoped... So in the end I am hoping it will be at least 64x100.... I am planning on having a "runway" going to the doorway... I won't be able to finish building it until I, Have the money for the display fee, and then buy all the pieces I need... To finish the base I need 15 dollars and to finish the area outside I need 15 as well.... This is going to be one expensive build.. Mainly cause of the fee.. And since I am under 15 I have to get my dad to come.. Another 52 dollars..
@ Rook I don't like poddying on my MOCs.
Don't worry there will be detail! Just not tiles....
Re: Possible Brickfair2012 dio.
Where did you find out about the size limit on a Brickfair moc? I'm sure that quite a few mocs were much bigger then 99X99.

It wouldn't let me put the size as higher than 99x99. I think it menas I can bring a dio of 99x99 and if I want it bigger make a second one and connect them...

Oh, well, you are better off making a slimmer, longer moc because it will display better on the table.

Yeah I wonder why the maxed it off at 99 instead of 100...
Anyway I have finished the Hologram room. It isn't going to make any die cause of awesomeness but it is nice IMO.
Re: Possible Brickfair2012 dio.
Okay let's see what I have done since this time yesterday. I finished 80% of the floor thanks to a couple ships I had half destroyed and forgotten about. And added one more brown 16x16 behind the droids... I hope to make my order as soon as Bizzle post a pic of what I hope is easier and cheaper than this method....
I also started on the "runway" leading out of the base.
Edit here is the second Dio I hope to bring. Suggestons?
My first try at Apoc.... I like it so far!

Re: Possible Brickfair2012 dio.
Collapsing bridge is excellent. Make the rest of the MOC look that good and you will revival even Master Windu Sabarrus or Knight.
Re: Possible Brickfair2012 dio.
Great looking start!
As for the first one, I'd add some major detailing/variation to that wall. The outward "supports" could be enlarged to use more ground space, plus it would be more eye catching. Greebles can always be the defaulto method of detailing, keep that in mind!
As for the second build, You may want to get rid of the green bricks, they pop out of the level ground a bit. To get a gradual incline, use plates. Also maybe add a little "island" of green in the middle of one of the tan areas. This will even out the green that's all condensed into the river area. If you can get your hands on some dark tan plates, use those as a transition from the green to the tan.
The use of those flower stems (Grass pieces) Could help on the green as well, for the sake of texture. And I'd use gray plates below the bridge so it doesn't look for out of place. This and maybe throw in some equally detailed buildings.
There's my advice, I hope this helps!

Re: Possible Brickfair2012 dio.
Thank you both. As for Sabarrus'es piece of advice I have a couple questions by what you mean.
You mentioned adding grebes on the first MOC. What type of greebles? Do you mean tile the inner base? Do you mean tile the top of the wall? I am a little stumped.
And on the second MOC you mentioned including gray plates so the road doesn't lok out of place.. I am not sure what you mean by that..
Where are you seggesting I put them? All the way across? Just underneath the gray pillar? Or underneath the destroyed part if the bridge?
As for the progress I moved the bridge to come across the river facing what I hope will be the direction are looking from. And at my Dad's suggestion I am adding some destroyed parts of bridge on the ground...
BTW can anyone spot the Easter egg in the previous picture?

Re: Possible Brickfair2012 dio.
Update. Ok so I trashed the second dio. Need the pieces. The first one however has gotten a little progress since last time. My lego PaB order was made 2 weeks ago and I hope it will be in soon. It has the parts I need for the fence and the rest of the inside of the base.. I also will be including one CABG member's figure in there and another's in disguise.. Post your sigs as either a Sith or a Jedi please. The more people that do it the better.
Re: Possible Brickfair2012 dio.
This. Or would you prefer my sark side sig-fig? I haven't posted him yet...pyro of the 19th wrote:^ Can you just get mine off the community build thing?
Re: Possible Brickfair2012 dio.
It is up to you guys. However I do suggest your sig doesn't have rare or parts that only come in expensive sets. As I most likely won't have them. And WS I would like to see your Dark side sig.

Not many rare parts in mine as far as I'm aware?...
If you can use my sig-fig it would be great!
