Brickburg Fire Department
Well, if you follow my flickr you'll have seen that lately I've been going in a different direction away from WWII tanks and trucks: Fire Engines!
Basically since I've been a little kid I've loved Fire trucks and always longed for TLC to make a nice accurate pumper rescue truck. Seeing as they've failed many times, I took my own hand at it, and the outcome was Pumper 1:
Your standard run of the mill fire truck, with a crew of three and various equipment. I'd worked out a simple scheme that I'd like (Red with one white stripe running through it) and chose a mixture of red and blue lights as in the US they're red and in Europe they're blue.
However, it doesn't finish there. Every Fire Department needs a Ladder, or Tower, so, I built one! I used Mad physicists ladder design with several modifications (The picture seen up top is a bit outdated, I managed to length the ladder, see picture below) and several opening compartments with equipment stored inside.
Of course it doesn't end there. I went on an built a second pumper truck (with more of an old design, center pump on the front and side mounted ladder) and went ahead and bought some great chromed pieces from Chrome Block City (Wider variety than Chromebricks and cheaper.)
My final 'complete' model is a Battalion truck, or Fire Chief which is basically a design stolen from Steven Astenbury on Brickshelf. My next model will be a rescue truck with large amounts of equipment stored inside.
Thank you for reading. Enjoy!

Re: Brickburg Fire Department
What you should make to finish your fire department is one of those planes that drops thousands of gallons of water in blazing forests.
Re: Brickburg Fire Department
These look great! I especially like the bulk that TLC sadly doesn't have.
Re: Brickburg Fire Department
My first ever Lego set was a big fire truck... lasted about a day...
Anyway, some nice fire trucks you've made here. My favourite would be the basic truck.

Re: Brickburg Fire Department
Its remarkable how high you made that ladder extend. And still while maintaining minifig scale!
Re: Brickburg Fire Department
Those are incredible minifigure scale firetrucks! Fantastic small details and nice extending ladder!

I too have always loved firetrucks. I've tried building them but they always turn out worse then TLC's. I love the second one with the chrome bumper the best. It's the most realistic one as American firetrucks go, anyway. Great Job.

Chrome bumper. I didn't even see that. Nor did I know that piece existed. :3
Re: Brickburg Fire Department
LEGO doesn't make it. He got it from Chrome Block City.
