Tri-droid WIP
My proto is finally done! The pictures are crappy and the torso and support needs some work but I'm getting there.
Re: Tri-droid WIP

Wow, those legs are really great! They just seem to flow. Can't wait to see the final version!
Re: Tri-droid WIP
If you could get it to stand up without the supports you would be THE Lego king.
That hint aside I like what I am seeing, the sphere is nice, but the legs I feel are a tad thin, maybe making them a tad thicker would help the supports.

Bricklink, they are from the mosaic sets I believefithboy wrote:Awesome! This is really cool. Where'd you get the transparent plate?
I'm trying to pull it off without having to bulk up the legs (I worked in LDD switching back and forth and the deminsions are perfect according to the reference shot) but I don't think Newtonian physics are on my side hereC.J.Cutrone9 wrote:If you could get it to stand up without the supports you would be THE Lego king.
I'll tell my dad you said so (His nick-nacks in the background) Like I said crappy quick picsRook wrote:Nice rooster.

Very awesome. I love how you made the legs and sphere, along with the guns as well. Two questions though:
1. What did you use to make the sphere?
2. WOuld you mind post some instructions to this please?

Re: Tri-droid WIP
Wow you have noob written all over you! Welcome to the Guild; usually this is the mods' jobs but I think I'll post this to save you from getting whacked on the wrist by Rook or the like. I'll post instructions to the SNOT brickbuilt sphere in the techniques area in the next few days since it seems like everyone is digging it.GeneralKydanWitress wrote:Very awesome. Re: Tri-droid WIP
Update time!
+ = (Clone Math! (btw the smilie is drinking blood))
So the eyes and body are perfected and I'm just waiting on a light tent for Christmas now to get good shots and a bricklink order for a better transluscent support. Oh and when I get it I'll be posting nice shots of my gunship, y-wing and RC turbo tank too.
Do you guys want update pics, or do you want to wait for the final version?

Re: Tri-droid WIP
So I promised pictures today but it turns out physics and gravity don't smile upon large fragile 2 lb. Lego balls being balanced on toothpicks!
EDIT: Just ordered a crap load of pieces to sure up the structure, so you guys will have to wait on my 4 bricklink orders. It'll be worth the wait though!

Can we at least see the aftermath?
Re: Tri-droid WIP
Dang it! I knew I was forgetting something. The crash was pretty sweet though. Best lego wipeout I've seen since my AT-OT and Republic dropship fell from my 7 foot tall shelf. Just anxiously waiting on four bricklink orders now... you know how it is.Si-Mocs wrote:Iceman792 wrote:So I promised pictures today but it turns out physics and gravity don't smile upon large fragile 2 lb.
