Javitos Temple from RAIDERS.
Here is my ultimate movie accurate Javitos Temple from the begining Raiders of the Lost Ark. It consists of three of the actual sets! Jock's Seaplane was more or less part of this project.(Which is why it's in some of the pics)
An overview:
Where else to start but the begining? Many victims have been caught by the Javitos, with obvious results... Belloq and Berronca are waiting for Indy.(Some Javitos would be there as well, unfortunatly a package from Bricklink has yet to arrive. )
A look fom the entryway down the corridor:
And now we continue to the Spider Chamber:
And now the boulder perched ominously atop it's ramp, with the spear chamber just beyond:
Now the spear chamber (spears retracted):
And it's most famous inhabitant, Forrestal!
We continue on past the giant stone door, and the hole in the wall that the spike trigger light shines through:
The spike pit is just beyond (I couldn't for obvious reasons make the pit incredibley deep, but it IS deeper then the original, plus I added spikes to enhance the effect. Also notice I included the vine Indy hangs off of later to get out):
Some clumsy past explorer now takes up residence here:
A view looking forward from the spike chamber at Satipo and the dart room:
And the dart room with the Idol's chamber beyond:
And now our hero trying carefully to snatch the idol from it's pedestal:
A Better look at the Idol's chamber:
A great view from the Dart room looking at the Idol's chamber:
And the small air vent on the exterior of the temple which Indy runs past while escaping the Javitos, releasing a storm of bats:
And finally two more pictures of the overall MOC:
As always, comments/questions/critique welcomed!

:superoh: My god Astoria! This is fantastic! How much do you want for it?!? Seriously, I can't criticize you on anything. great job with the skellies at the beginning, that one guy hanging of the spikes, and the interior in general. I like you you used the circular rock pieces to hold the ball, and also how you did the spike chamber. Finally the main chamber is outstanding! So epic. The only I wish you could change is the bag of sand Indy is holding from dark bley to tan. Beautiful... 91, 92!
Re: Javitos Temple from RAIDERS.
Double post- Check, I really am that last to edit I also like how you added that curve into the whole design. Really capitalizing upon legos original.

WOWOWOW, so much detail! This is amazing, I love how you covered what Lego didn't ( ). I really have nothing bad to say at all!

You have to remember that LEGO only has a limited amount of pieces as they want to make it affordable. Astoria, however, does not. great job ABL, it's so incredibly detailed and accurate! :superoh:
Re: Javitos Temple from RAIDERS.
OK, that's IT.
HOW many Temple Escapes did you buy to build this?
And a few spelling mistakes: It's Barranca, they are Hovitos, and it's Satipo.
But who am I to say such things when something this magnanimous is here...

Yes I misspelled Barranca and Satipo, but Javitos really is spelled with a "J", remember with spanish "J"s are pronounced as "H"s. And it took three Temple Escapes to build this AND Jock's Seaplane.
Now to answer some other questions: Legorevolution, yeah for the final the bag SHOULD be tan, or dark tan if that exists yet, but I just wanted something for him to hold for these pics, and guess what I had lying around... DP, which skulls are you talking about, the big Brickbuilt ones, the single-piece Juinior Pirot skulls, or the minifig skulls?

Thank you! Well, looks like I'll have to buy this one together with the parts for the Indy Jeep, since no one in The Netherlands has them for sale.

That's too bad. But international shipping, especially for parts, isn't usually too expensive.

Well, I wouldn't know. I just play Lego Indy and take my info from there.

Wondeful job Astoria. Agreeded, there is nothing to critizize, and to much to like to point out everything. I think that it is outstanding. The best shot is the trough the door shot, there is only lego in sight, really works at creating a whole Lego Universe. I always try to never break that pattern (only lego) when building a scene.

Thank you, I like only-LEGO scenes as well, but they are very hard to do sometimes unfortunatly.
P.S. Isn't LEGO-Indy so much fun to play Eighty-Oh!
I split the topics so his reply is now in the Video-Games thread for all of you who are wondering.-MOD

Thank you, I loved the "playset-ness" of the original set, and therefore worked it in.
