Removing Minifigures from Magnets
Removing Minifigures from Magnets
I got into some hot water this weekend! Well just my finger tips.
I’m sure everyone has already seen this and maybe even tried it themselves. How I didn’t see/find a thread about here on theCABG.net .
So I case you’ve missed this before here it is again.
1. Heat water to 160-170F.
2. Check temperature with thermometer.
3. Place glued parts in water for 30 seconds.
4. Use tongs to gently remove from water.
5. Use butter knife, and push down and forward between minifigure’s legs and magnet piece. Note you may notice some bowing on the magnet piece until minifigure breaks free.
6. Admire results.

Thats why the temperature is key. You can melt the temperature at a higher boiling point, I am not sure what that temperature is though.
Re: Magnet Sets
That would be 100C & 212F, and I don't of anyone that actually uses Kelvins but I think it’s in the upper 300’s.
Re: Magnet Sets
Some good ones!?
Well which I believe only the 2011 ones are glued. How about these?
Or these old school figs.

Re: Magnet Sets
I was hoping to get my hands on several of the black space man. But sadly my TRU had shipping issues and didn't receive the Bricktober figs to well into November.
Re: Magnet Sets
Interesting... To be honest, I never knew these magnet sets were actually glued! But on the other hand, we don't have to buy magnet sets in order to collect specific figs. I guess those recently released mini planet sets will do the job of providing us good quality SW figs such as Sebulba.
