CABGO III MOC 2: Formula One Car
After taking advice from everyone I've upgraded the car. Here is version 3.0:
It has a total of 61 pieces, not including the minifigure.

I was considering that, but It was already too bulky for my liking.

I mean make it wider. It's too thin, even out of scale thin.

What is this Ferrari? McLaren is where it's at. I agree with jamesuniverse, make it 4 wide and it would have came out better. Maybe some different wheels too because aren't those ones from McDonald's? Also it would have looked better if you had only placed the head in the car because in an F1 car you can't see anything but the driver's head. With some touch up this could be better.

This isn't meant to be any car in particular, I don't watch or follow F1. By four wide, do you mean the nose bit four wide or the main body four wide? Also, have you read the rules of CABGO III? You have to use the whole minifigure, not just the head.

Ok. I see your point. This isn't going to be a real car. And I understand. But seriously? Please compare your shape to this:

I am just trying to help ok? I don't want to be mean, but I think this could be improved by you.
Re: CABGO III MOC 2: Formula One Car
Yeah, I think you can do better Fith. Don't forget that F1's always have exposed wheels (no fenders).

Don't even get me started on American Muscle, but I love exotics too.
Anyway, being a car fan, I know the look of F1/Indy you're going for, but they are open wheel, plus they're a bit more wide than tall. This is a good start but get rid of the gas pump and shrink the height of the some. Look at how Lego did it when they did their Ferrari line.
It isn't bad, but you could better your chances if you improved it.

I made a second car. If you like it more than the first one tell me and I'll take a break-down shot and stuff.
Re: CABGO III MOC 2: Formula One Car
This one is a lot better. The front fins really help. As simple as it may be, I like the technique you used for the spoiler. Not bad.
In general, you need to make the vehicle bigger, though, as to enclose the entire driver. It's a pain, I know, but it's rewarding.

Re: CABGO III MOC 2: Formula One Car
WIDER! No offense, but it's a stick with wheels. Beef up the sides and this may be a competitive MOC.fithboy wrote:So are you taking longer still or wider?
Re: CABGO III MOC 2: Formula One Car
This one is better, but I think you should beef up the width of this so that it can enclose the driver. I preferred the old fin too.
Re: CABGO III MOC 2: Formula One Car
Okay, I'm starting to think that this just lacks some curves. Take a good look at this, and see how incredibly smooth and curved that is. You might not be able to achieve quite that look with Lego, but you can certainly seek some inspiration. I mean, if someone managed to get it curvy in micro-scale, I can imagine that it wouldn't be impossible for you to do. Just put some thought into that, and you'll be golden.
