Droideka -Instructions Up-
Ha! It has a clone trooper in it so it counts as a Clone Army Creation Anyways this is a droideka design I found on some guys brickshelf folder the other day. It looked good, so I built it and tested it out. This is the best design ever- seriously. Check the link, check my pictures, and check the video at the end!

Rolling up.
The binoculars stick out a little, but that's because that's how I like to station the arms on mine.
Starting to deploy from ball mode.
Arms fold out.
Then up.
Downwards and in.
Fire!
The cool thing is that the arms can move inwards and outwards a little bit, plus up and down so it's really posable.
Front view.
Side shot of the droideka.
Back shot. I appologize for not having the appropriate pieces (legs). It takes 7 mechanical droid arms to build this baby.
You put those 1x1 slopes so it can pose in roll-mode, and because a 2x2 slope prevents it from folding up correctly/looks weird.
The back leg (black) folds up towards the mid section of the body.
Guns fold up, then back.
Then inwards. That's how I like mine, you can also just leave them sticking out if you want.
Fold the antanae (sp) in.
Fold the head down towards the bottom and the back legs up into the guns...
And this is your final result!

The droid rolls on hard surfaces, but works better on carpets- for those of you who want to play with them for hours on end
I thought the features of this thing were awesome because:
1. It looks really realistic
2. Its highly posable
3. It has a roll/ball mode unlike TLC version
4. It actually rolls

You guys really need instructions to build this? It took me like 20 min looking at less detailed/lit pictures. But if you wish I'll take some building pictures tonight Seriously they're really really awesome. I'm quitting CABG and joining DABG full time now!
Re: Droideka -Instructions Up-
Revo, this is awesome! The "pelvic area" sticks out a little bit, but that would make the rolling position look bad if it was changed. Good work! 9/10

Yes we NEED instructions! I'm too lazy and time-strapped to reverse-engineer anything right now. You quit and Rook will have your head!

Re: Droideka -Instructions Up-
great design, Legorev! Ingenious ideas, as always!
EDIT: I don't know why, but I can't seem to make the 'g' at the beginning of the sentence become capital. Help, what's happening?
I've had that problem approximatly twice before, it's a mystery as to WHY that happens...-MOD

Re: Droideka -Instructions Up-
Wow, now if all my grey droid arms weren't tied up in my current MOC, I'd build that in a heartbeat!
Re: Droideka -Instructions Up-
I love it!!! But is there any reason why one droid arm is black in the back?
Re: Droideka -Instructions Up-
Legorev said that he didn't have enough of the same colour droid arms, so that's why it's all different droid arm colours.

Yep, usually I write a lot of stuff in my moc posts but EVERYTHING I write is valuable and descriptive, so please read
P.S. instructional pics coming later this afternoon.
Re: Droideka -Instructions Up-
Here's my custom colorized/not colorized, you decide, version:
SUPER BUMBLEBEE DROIDEKA ON!
SUPER BUMBLEBEE DROIDEKA ON!
Re: Droideka -Instructions Up-
When I built the droideka I thought I kinda resembled a hornet or wasp because of the bottom 'butt' sticking out forwards, so I wanted to make it. Rook beat me too it. Looks great. How do you like the design? Is it not the best ever?
Re: Droideka -Instructions Up-
Rook wrote:Still not perfect better then Lego has done.
I don't know how it could be better. I don't have the pieces to investigate, but you certainly do. Can we see some more improvements as done by you?
Also I apologize because instructions are not yet up. School starts for me tomorrow so I've been quite busy. I'll have em up later this afternoon/tonight.
