Triple Threat!
The 88th Legion's Triple Threat!
Ok so here it comes.
1. Here's my entry for our MOC of the month for the Portal Page.
2. There's another entry for the guild build in progress, "Beasts of Burden".
3. There's the CABGO thing going on that you need to have your Legion confronting a new CIS General on a specific planet.
The 88th's CR-20XW Troop Carrier
Info & Story about MOC:
This Trooper carrier is heavy modified for the high risk mission that it was designed for. The hull has triple thick armor plating. Thus the "XW" (Extra Wide) in the name. Designed to handle extra heat and extremely heavy gun fire. This ship can fly closer to a sun when most shield ships and can with stand direct contact with lava for extended periods of time if necessary. The craft carries the 88th's elite forces team, a squad of Clone Troops, Scout Troopers on T.O. Class Speeder Bikes. Also this mission required the special service of 2 Jedi. Jedi General Master Liv La Row in her special heat resistant armor and Jedi Knight Adian Volf in usually combat armor with a sub layer devoted to heat control.
The 88th's orders: To contact a Separatist General named Runa Haasi on Queyta in the Sluis sector that wishes to defect. Runa Haasi is a female Neimoidian warrior with force sensitive abilities. She was chosen to lead the 88th Legion into a trap. However she had not planned on them sending an extra Jedi, Master Row. Runa had a genetically modified Vornskr which later would resemble a Voxyn. The Force-Sensitive monster was well worth its price.
And the Final Teaser

It works now and all I want to say is that you are the best builder ever Rook. Lego must accept you as a set builder.

That should be, "Wow! I love it. How much time did it take you to make it?"
Lot's. I started last weekend. Today is Wednesday. Zepher killed Firday and most of Saturday. So; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, & took pictures Wednesday morning.

The base plate is 96x96. So it's pretty small as far as "Rookification" goes.
Re: Triple Threat!
Thats so cool!! But in the real thing can clones really sit in the engiens (SP)?

Re: Triple Threat!
Yes. They are called Toaster Clones, and they are a part of this complete breakfest!
Re: Triple Threat!
Rook this is your best yet, seriously. This is the most detailed, colorful, accurate, and playable model you've built. This is so stunning. I'm voting for you in all 3 events You put so much effort into this, the detail was incredible. I liked the guns upfront and under the side 'wings', the pop-up back engines for troops (which I'm still trying to figure out how you did), the fold-down landing gear with gearing inside, and the different levels of the ship, not to mention the hatches and the astromech droid. It is perfect from what I can see in the pictures. I have a few questions though, how sturdy/playable is it? How long (hour wise) did it take you? How proud are you for kicking my @**? INCREDIBLE JOB ROOK! I thought you've been slacking recently then you slapped me with this.
Re: Triple Threat!
All art comes in waves. I still remember the best poem I ever wrote. But besides that point I think my best work even when I paint is when I try to create something that all ready "exists". Being able to see a picture rather then just having an idea, pushes you to try to match the picture. When you create things out of you mind it's too easy to say oh that's too hard I'll just edit that out.

That was incredibly well written, well put, and deep.
Re: Triple Threat!
Rook, I don't know.
Something keeps the quality of your work %100 percent higher than all of CABG, it seems. But what?
And WHY DOES LEGO NOT RECOGNIZE IT?
Well, if the above three lines don't tell you my opinion read this:
Rook, this PWNS!
That mini Republic Cruiser of sorts is fantastic! You know, if you change it all to green and take off the back engine, and add two long horizontal wings, you can make the craft of Reti, Rhys Dallows' Toydarian friend in the game: Star Wars: Starfighter. It's pretty close to the mold, only MAYBE a little big.

Re: Triple Threat!
Probably because Lego wants people that can make cheap simple sets. I rarely do simple.
Also their audition process was only 1 hour. You can't build much in one hour without having practiced building the same thing over and over... and over.

Re: Triple Threat!
Oof...
Maybe building on a slightly smaller scale wouldn't be unhealthy...

I liked Reti, and those games were good. Starfighter, and Jedi Starfighter.

Re: Triple Threat!
There was some questions about the building of this piece. So here's some close ups that might help.
