Venator... enough said
I made a beast like this for a star destroyer a few years ago that is so bad I'd rather not show it.
But, now that I'm into clones, and their ships a decided to use the same ideas to make a venator. It's about half done, and here are step by step photos of how I've built it so far...
The base
The reinforced bottom that you can't see.
...
And how it is right now
Please leave me some suggestions... Oh, and yes this will be in my entry for CC's contest...

Saweeet!!!
This thing is awesome! When I saw the first picture I thought it was kinda blocky, but with the slopes and all I think it looks great!
What are you gonna do for the bottom? You can't just leave it flat... I would suggest you but the slopes....

I would work on the edges a little bit. It looks a bit like Home One.

Too much EaW eh Joe?
But I see what you mean, maybe the angle of the Venator could be less, but it looks good so far!

I also think it looks a bit too rounded. Keep working on it though!

Well, I thought people would be going crazy over this... I guess not. Maybe these pics of the almost finished venator will stir this up a bit...

Hmm... it needs the wedge inside.
I guess the problem is it's a bit inaccurate...

You probably got little response because you posted this at night... wait till tomorrow... that will flare up interest!
It looks good! The Bridge part looks weird though... a little bit barren and too greebly looking. It doesn't look as accurate as it should be....
Keep up the good work!

Erm... it's messy. Very messy... The angles aren't well executed, the grey/bley mix hurts my eyes, and the bridge is... well, I'm not sure how to describe it...
This needs a lot more work, and I don't think it's a venator either...

It's very studdy and has tons of old grey AND bley, old light grey AND new light grey, etc. Plus, where are the two gaps on either side for the hangars? I'd say ditch the red in the middle and make it an Acclamator while you're ahead.
But really, you could make a good Acclamator if you make it all grey; it's quite easy. Just beef up the bridge, remove all red/tan and most dark grey/bley, and take off the two little 'wings' in the back.
To be fair I'm quite surprised you actually came up with something as... Magnanimous as this.
A valiant effort, no doubt.

Ok, I can't change the mixing. (Not enough pieces) I will change the angles, and make the dent towards the back, But I won't change the bridge because I wanted to customize this a little bit, as I am thinking about starting my legion from this... Anyways, thanks for the comments.

Same here Zeph! Isn't it amazing how that baseplate with a few blocks turned into this beast?

Wow! great WIP! One big problem though is that the ship in 'reality' does not taper down in the front. It's the same height. It just narrows on the sides. Same is true of the rest of the ship really. The Bridge needs more work too.

Really? Oh, that might make it easier, thanks!

Negative comment only? Give the boy some slack for his effort!J4ke wrote:Erm... it's messy. Very messy... The angles aren't well executed, the grey/bley mix hurts my eyes, and the bridge is... well, I'm not sure how to describe it...

Anways, the bridge needs to be much more movie accurate, the main back shape (Like Alpha said) Needs to be changed a tad. The pieces on the bottom should be ummm...Less colorful! XD And what about the engines?!

Re: Venator... enough said
It still looks a bit like the Home One, but still VERY impressive!
I would take away the curves and use straight angles.

I've now made the angles on the sides more obtuse, and added the engines. The pieces on the bottom will not be visible so um yea.... Oh, and the bridge will stay the same, I love it. I guess it could be a mix between an Acclemator, and the venator...
Re: Venator... enough said
As I said before I will enter this into CC's thread. So, here are some more pics!
And a teaser for ze contest!

No actually I don't, it was an update. Take a chill pill, and don't you think dying is a bit overdoing it? x100000000
