Barebones Speeder - Moc Idol Round 2 Entry
Presenting my entry for round 2 of Moc Idol. Enjoy!
So Der'Bokay, the pilot of this bizarre craft, valued speed over all else, and his reasoning was thus: the engines are at the back, so anything forwards of that is unnecessary. So, weilding his plasma torch, he removed anything that he saw superfluous.
In reality, this was built because I lack the pieces to make a full-sized speeder. Still, I really love how this came out. built from 1 Clone Speeder BP and 2 Clone Walker BPs, with parts to spare.

Cool! I love how it looks skeletal. The engines are the best part. The only thing I can see to improve is to make the front a bit skinnier, but otherwise it's great!

Whoa, I do believe that this is the mother of all CBP alternates! I love it! The design is really ingenious, and the construction of the skeleton is incredible!

The engines are great, but the skeleton front just doesn't look strong enough to hold a speeder together.

Love the skelettal design! Ont he back shot it looks kinda like a tank (do you see it?).
On that front piece I would change the blue stud/bionicle part with a gray one with two stories instead of one (I'l try to get a picture because I suck at explaining).

Its great for the amount of pieces you have, J4ke! My only concern is how you are gonna get through the next challenge...
Re: Barebones Speeder - Moc Idol Round 2 Entry
Nice, I like the whole structure of it but it looks like it could fall apart easily.
Re: Barebones Speeder - Moc Idol Round 2 Entry
I agree with DP, the engines really fit nicely but I don't think the structure could support the whole thing.

Recall, though, that there are two 'arms' going straight out the front holding a block of peices which holds the rest of the skeletal part. So the skeletal part is just a lightweight addition, IMO.
As I said on Mibbit, it looks great; the cockpit area is very well done as well as the skeletal area.

Thank you all! The front isn't as weak as it looks, (as 80-0 correctly points out), the two blaster pieces that run all the way through the middle, combined with the SNOT I used to mount the first click-hinge curve are indeed strong enough to keep it from falling apart.
Code_Green, I know what you mean. I hate that LEGO released half pins in blue instead of the old-fashioned grey.
Pdragon, I'm sure I'll think of something...

Nice work Jake, I like the skeletal bit, it does make itlook like a sleek fast, stripped-down craft. Well done.

There is something I'm really liking about the stripped down front as well. I looks like a hovr-craft sort of... I don't know. It just works very well, especailly with the circular perimater.
