541st Vendetta #11: Situational Irony
Day two of the Ansion Invasion begins with the return of several old characters (so if you can't remember back to the begining of the series...), and the Purist version of Senior Clone Marshal Shiko (GAH, I just noticed he's not wearing a Sniper Rifle ).
An average comic (with one spelling error), but I've got some nifty tricks I'm planning to use in later comics so you can finally have a epic-scale battle .

Brilliant! It's good to see that woman didn't die, and Shiko was VERY cool.

Shiko's grey.
The rest of it wasn't bad, but definitely not one of your best. The Equinox guy's language is particularly weird. Why does he go from completely calm to RARGH I HAET TEH REPUBLIK in the space of one panel? Plus, the thought bubbles weren't a particularly good effect, nor a technique that was really necessary - some better dialogue could have conveyed her thoughts without us actually seeing them. Oh, and IMO you overdid the fire a tad. The establishing shot on Corellia was nice enough, though. Good lighting to match the background.
Now, how are you going to portray Akrah?

My (yours now) BA again!
Very nice plot development, I like the rank respecting clone.
Keep them coming!

I really digged this one!
The soldier and woman part was mildly funny. It could be a good relationship, that of course ends with her killing him.

He is? I never noticed that in the Bio. I just assumed their armor was painted to the legion colors .
Pent up anger, and trying to keep the storyboard a bit more condensed. I didn't execute it all that well. The thought-bubbles were just a way of guiding along the reader who may not remember our Red-Headed friend, and that she was aiding the Republic and is now caught behind enemy lines. The fire... yeah, just trying to dust off that effect. Haven't really done that since Chronicles, so I'm preparing for another night fight .
Re: 541st Vendetta #11: Situational Irony
Shiko's the leader of the 815th Corps, not the 265th Legion. J4ke made some decals for him a while ago, but they've vanished from his Flickr now. I'll ask him about them when he gets online.Sialboats wrote:He is? I never noticed that in the Bio. I just assumed their armor was painted to the legion colors.

But that doesn't make sense... just grey. Look at our bloody Corps logo .

That's just 'cause orange rocks. Grey is, uh... tactical. Yeah, see, tactical, that's in the corps name.
CC used the decals on a clone once, I'll see if he's got them.

Introducing the Corps leaders, eh?
Can't say it wasn't bad, Tasche and a Equinox bastard meeting up, then a reintroduction of McCulbert, who's meeting your Corps leaders. Nice one.

Oh I remember them! Was it that grey camo clone trooper with your corps logo on?

Shiko. Doesn't sound like a very respectable character. Not nice at all! Great plot and backround, though it's obviously from coruscant.

Very nice comic once again, but the lack of action left a big hole... Oh well, still an nice comic!
Re: 541st Vendetta #11: Situational Irony
Great comic! The only bad parts was, like TJN said, he went from normal to: OMFGIHATEREPUBLIC! Although I think you should make more of these character proggressions in the future,

Re: 541st Vendetta #11: Situational Irony
All these people want is action action action! It's soooo annoying! Ever heard of plot development!
This one was fairly good! I really like the re-intro of Red Head, and the Captain. My least favorite part by far were the thought bubbles, and within those my least favorite one was "I'll need allies so I'd better befriend him". You say that I sometimes make my dialouge sound fake... and that was very... very fake.

I know! I was aweful, but how else could I easily convey that sentiment without half the crowd who doesn't understand who Red Head is, where she is, or what she's doing, going "LOLWUT"?

Ah....the great quality of Sailboat's (yes I just said you're a watercraft ) amazing 541st comics. I loved the good ole' days when we only had about 210 users.

Aaaah! Now I remember hearing of that. So he's back, and hopefully not as much as a noob ?
Re: 541st Vendetta #11: Situational Irony
Yes...that was me. I kept saying "I WANTZ GUILD CLUBZ" not like that but I said Guild Club instead of Guild. Also when did that become a joke? Was it while I was taking my long vaction from CABG?Alpha wrote:Old member, the one who started the whole 'Guild Club' joke.

Write your comics or the smart people. Screw the stupid ones. That's what I do. If you dumb things down, then the smart people a.k.a. the people who matter won't enjoy it, but if you smarten things up things then it will give you at least an audience that you want to impress being impressed, even if it's a smaller audience.

I normally don't cater to the dullards, but I felt I had to. I don't want to make it too esoteric.
