Failed Comic Attempt #14
Just liked to share with you all a comic I attempted to produce, only to give up halfway through realising I hated it...
What was happening is that the droids attack a clone outpost:
A rocket droid fires a... um rocket... into the comm tower:
Eventually the clones are defeated, leaving the padawan Jedi, but the droids surround him instead, as if they are waiting for someone:
That's when I gave up... Seriously, after doing all that, I realised how much it sucked to make comics. And that, in itself, sucks, because I want to do a comic for my legion, but after all this I've been discouraged to do anything...

Re: Failed Comic Attempt #14
It really isn't that terrible, I'd just try again. Who knows it could be a superb comic! What did you not like about it?
Re: Failed Comic Attempt #14
Just the process of making the comic.
Moving the pieces again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again...
And taking camera shots again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again...
And removing parts of the scene for a good shot again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again...
And having to GIMP every scene and need to divide the images into frames and add text bubbles...
Moving the pieces again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again...
And taking camera shots again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again...

Now you understand why comic-makers want to see comments. It takes a lot of time and effort.

I think that the comic was really good, but after that one post I don't think I will even try.

What, did you think this would be easy? That you'd get it done in like a day? Sure, it's a pain in the butt, but if you really want to see it done then you gotta stick to it. Do a little each day, like build the scene one day, take pictures the next, then GIMP it after that.
I look forward to any Star Wars comic that takes effort. This was a good starter story, and I think you should keep at it.

I doubt Jinja has such manly cheekbones.
Good scenery, particularly the foliage, and nice work on the base!

I think that it's pretty good, but more of a slideshow with a story than a comic.
And what happened to all your awesome custom clones MZ?

And what do you think a stop motion is. Well no text bubbles but still. I guess us guys who make stop motions are more patient than we think. The comics is not bad, I really liked the special effects and how the lasers bounced off the light sabers, it gave that nice Star Wars touch.
Re: Failed Comic Attempt #14
I think you forgot an again... Anyways, it isn't that bad, the lighting could use some work and so could the background. And when you said the droids were waiting for someone, wouldn't the jedi like jump out of the scene, since he's a jedi after all...
Oh, by the way, it's good to be back.

Of course not, but the first comic I made wasn't anywhere as annoying to make as this, I actually enjoyed making it (and I did knock it off in one day ). And I was expecting the same kind of experience as for this...
But for this one, I didn't even want to continue it, 'cause I knew that the next day I would have to do the annoying process all over again.
... Yeah, I am having a bit of a whinge over nothing, aren't it? I guess I just needed some validation about this kind of stuff...
And why no custom clones? Well, I'm afraid to touch them at the moment, plus I don't have enough of them ready - I need to finish all my Rifleman.

What? Could you explain to the rest of the world.
Re: Failed Comic Attempt #14
... Ah, yeah - I mean they're fragile - I'm worried about accidentally peeling off the decals, even though they're sealed...

That's the thing. One day, you love working on one, and the next, you don't. It all depends on how you approach it.
But for this one, I didn't even want to continue it, 'cause I knew that the next day I would have to do the annoying process all over again.
Who ever said that you have a deadline? If you don't feel like working on it one day, then don't.
... Yeah, I am having a bit of a whinge over nothing, aren't it? I guess I just needed some validation about this kind of stuff...
Nah, I see what you mean. But if you start working on it thinking "Man, I gotta take a million pictures, then I gotta edit them. Why do I bother?", then your mood will be crappy, and maybe even the comic itself will be crappy. Go in there confident, and you'll finish faster than you thought you would and it'll look great. Trust me.
And why no custom clones? Well, I'm afraid to touch them at the moment, plus I don't have enough of them ready - I need to finish all my Rifleman.

Same here! Especially the leg decals.
Re: Failed Comic Attempt #14
I really like the use of the Rifles, instead of Standard blasters. It seems to get so old seeing the same blaster in every picture with a clone.
I didn't really see anything wrong with it, except for the occasional shots with the edges of paper. You know, notebook paper. Otherwise I really enjoyed it, or whatever that was done.

If you like him using the rifle instead of the standard blasters, then why are you angry (you should be happy)?
And the paper is just there to make it like a blank background.

I'm not angry at him, I'm saying that others use standard blasters too much! Anyway, I'm not saying it's so imperfect and I could do better, I was just posting some constructive criticizm! Sheesh.

He can put whatever he wants in his posts; it's up to you to interpret them the way he intends them to be interpreted.
