Woah, I like this alot. A war torn background would have been awesome, but I love the turret and the barrier. Nice job!

I don't really know how to put this on a background.

I use lightroom though to get it white.

It looks very good. It is cool how you convey a sense of defending a position without showing the enemy. Perhaps in version 2 you could add an actual explosion, in addition to the crater. Still this is a very nice scene.

I think in version 2 there should be a couple of Droid parts on the floor, and maybe some incoming droids too.
