Re: Post YOUR Custom Decal Images
Hmmm... what I do is I print the decal on a normal piece of paper first before onto the decal paper so I can see if the sizing and colour and everything else is correct.

Wow - that's a great idea!
I'm surprised no-one's mentioned it before now, it would definitely save a lot of time for loads of people.
Thanks. I do what TD said for sizing but I know colors vary by paper type and because of the lack of availability I try to squeeze out every bit og that paper I can get. the swatches also serve as a "wet ink" tester since it isn't important art work I can touch it to see if the ink dried. That is how I found out it took 2 days to dry for me.
I also print on label paper and apply for testing size and placement first. It helps show where to do the over lap cuts that are needed for decal softening stage.
Once I have everything ready on those 2 stages, I move on to the decal paper.
Sorry customizer but it is useful info for new customizers. I think I tested that shade of green and it showed up different on my decal paper.
Re: Post YOUR Custom Decal Images
So should I make the green a bit lighter?eclipsegrafx wrote:I think I tested that shade of green and it showed up different on my decal paper.

Re: Post YOUR Custom Decal Images
Here is, in my opinion, the best decal I have ever made. This is either the best, or Commander Fil is. I introduce to you, Commander Stone

Re: Post YOUR Custom Decal Images
Well done SGT. This is defiantly your best.
My only complaint is it looks a lot like mine.

I compared them a bit. They are different, except for the helmet decals. The color seems a bit too dark though.

Re: Post YOUR Custom Decal Images
Heres what I did folks... I copied CK's helmet decals and pasted them on paint. I cut them and then pasted them on Inkscape. Then I used the little Beizer tool and outlined them. After that, I moved the outline and dumped the maroon in it. Then I deleted the outline. So basically I used CK's helmet decals just to make sure the size was close to right. I'll edit my post and make sure I mention that.

Look's great SGT.
Okay I admit Halo is coming close to becoming my favorite. That's why I've designed an ODST decal to feed my inner halo fan.
Leg's are coming and maybe arms.
C&C welcomed

Re: Post YOUR Custom Decal Images
Very good, I like both of the new decals.
@SRG.Denal: The squawk arms are good, but if you look at the side of him, you'll realize he has like a splatter effect on it, not just gray.

SRG. Denal- Liking the decals!
Clone Killers- I like how you mixed it up with a decal non-star wars related.

That's because I saved it as a Jpeg or whatever it's called.

No, I mean, he has a splatter effect on the actual guy, not just solid gray there.

Some sci-fi armor. Duh.
It's an improvement on my earlier decals though.

Looks good CK.
Here are some decals I have been working on.
Gree:
Stone:
Clone wars Deviss:
Deviss is still WIP. Credit clone killers for the helmet decals because I can't make the size right. Template by me.

Re: Post YOUR Custom Decal Images
Eh, there are a few problems, some of it is pixelated or wrong scale, and Stone's arms are blurry.
Here's how I color decals:
1: Get your template.
2: Open it in a layer supporting program, such as GIMP or Paint.net.
3: Make a new layer under the template.
4. Set the template's layer to mode "darken".
5 Put all the color on the bottom layer, not worring about anything under the black lines on the template.
That way you can keep the vectorization of the template and avoid pixelation.
