"Angles" of Light [Legends of the Fall WIP Project]

I'm using 1x4 toothed plates running up 4 tracks with wormed gear boxes to ensure there's no slipage.

Holy cow that's genius... I was thinking of using regular gears, but those would fail.

I had found a way with regular gears but there was a weight threshold. And I was nearing it without adding greebles or vehicles so I figured I was going to have to find an alternate solution. The worm gear box reduces the drive speed and eliminates slippage. However the axle coming off the gear box has gears at the end to actually connect to the 1x4 toothed plates. The speed is slower than I want so I'm going to try to gear it up slightly.

Right: Frame 90% / Plating 70% / Tiling 20%
Back: Frame 80% / Plating 70% / Tiling 10%
Left: Frame 90% / Plating 70% / Tiling 20%

Looking like another Rook epic, can't wait to see the whole thing .

I think the size is just going to be mind blowing. Having a tower that you look eye to eye almost and then spires above your head is pretty cool. Now when it's standing on top of a 3 ft table I think I'll crap myself.

Oh mah gosh. That was a disturbing thought. XD

Nice to see some updates, I'm loving it so far!

When you take this apart I would LOVE to see how that elevator works. I know your gearboxes, but I can't visualize the rest very easily.

I have axles where it turns 90 degrees half way in the middle of the part due to stress.

Your getting father than me.

What is your setup? Mine is using these on a side-ways brick and then getting the motor to (with a gear) roll up them, or should I say, fail to roll up them.

Rook is using gearboxes. Now let's not high jack this thread. :p

Sorry, most of this WIP thread has been about elevators because it was the one key Power Function technique that I hadn't used before. So the first two pages were mainly about the exploration of elevator designs. We'll move on! Especially since the elevator design is complete.
