I've got a problem with GIMP. I am making a new avatar, and was trying to add a lightsaber to the picture. The background is totally black. I did everything to make the saber, but when I tried to color it, it didn't work... Any help?

Yeah, I tried that too but it ended up wither black, gray, or any dark color. I think that if you are using an avatar from CABG, it doesn't work.

No, I found this pic on Yahoo. I did the green screen effect with it first, so is that the possible problem? I really don't want to go back and start all over. Roll Eyes

Did you set the Layer mode to Screen mode?

You're supposed to do that...

Try watching the tutorial again, and as he shows you, do the steps, that way you won't get lost.

Ok, I got it! I didn't go "Select None" after I filled it in white. Now I got it! Smile

You can just open the image. You don't have to go through that whole process.

In fact, it's better if you just open it, that way it preserves the transparency.

LS maker never worked for me...

Just go with GIMP, it's only good for pics (not vids) but its MUCH nicer looking then LS maker!
