Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
They updated their software this month and I haven't even checked out all the new stuff.
Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
The only thing I don't like about Brickshelf is you can't comment on the creations, or ask questions. That's why I REALLY like CABG!

See! Another positive thing of the CABG. We simply PWN.
Spell it out. MOD Sorry, but it was done on purpose.

Yep CABG is awesome, another thing is how EASY it is to host pics, at fineclonier you have to crop the image to the right size, then find a hosting program, it takes forever and is a lot of work!

You cant spell out PWN, PWN is a variation of OWN, its like LOL, or OMG, it's part of the internet!
On a less off-topic note, CABG is a pretty chill place, it's where I chill. The insert pic button is what makes me happy .

I prefer to type like I talk, and use full words instead of acronyms, it's easier to understand, but that's just me.

Yea, just like Uberlag said you can't spell PWN out in a word.

And another reason is I don't know all the acronyms to use anyway.

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
In general you should avoid using acronyms unless they are universally known. Like: SWU (Star Wars Universe), MOD, USA, EPIII, & UCS. Unofficial internet short forms should be avoided. Like: PWN, ROFL, BFF, etc. Most of these terms are not recognized outside of North America and are not officially recognized acronyms in the English Language. This makes them internet “slang and/or jargon”. Slang in general should be avoided because as you move from region to region these terms mean different things (even within the English Language) and then your posts might not be clear or they may be even offensive. I.E. “I like fags,” in the UK is very different from “I like Fags,” in San Francisco.
Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
PWN isn't an acronym, PWN is a version of OWN, like I OWNED you at that video game...etc.

It's short form that isn't universal in the English Language. Someone may also think that you don't know how to spell "pawn".
Here: If it's on this list. It should be avoided.

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
I didn't even know there was a list of Internet acronyms, thanks Rook! And I shall avoid using them!

These are all very helpful when texting people or using IM or maybe even the CBox. But these should all be avoided in forum threads/posts.

I for one don't know very many of them, with some thought I can figure them out, but it takes more time to understand what the person is trying to say.

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
Rook, will we ever get back to what this thread is really about?
Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
Sure but this is about making better MOC's and now how to post them. Maybe I should change the title to "Rook's BLOG". Ha. No.

We should have a blog forum speaking of blogs.
