Kashyyyk - Preparing for Battle

Well, here's my application to the aMOCian Idol (And if I can find a 8x8, my Corps Challenge Entry). This MOC is called "Kashyyyk - Preparing for Battle"



As the Republic prepares its last minute defense against the Separatist forces on Kashyyyk, a Wookiee Ornithopter prepares to take off, its
gunner makes some last chit-chat with his flyboys. Below, Quinlan Vos leads his troops through the dense forest towards the beachhead while a bird flies over head.

That platform is perfect, although the Wookiee Flyer could use some work. The bird could use some work, too.

Overall, awesome MOC!

I like the platform, but the Wookiee Ornicopter (Or whatever it's called) could use some work, as JJ said.

Yeah, the Ornithopther still needs a couple pieces, but the bird was just a last minute addition... I found the pieces just lying there, so I had to use them...

Cool! I like the platform very much!

It looks very good. I would ty to give Quinlan Vos some black clothes instead of the tan Jedi robes. I used The Emperor's torso and body for mine.

Whoop de doo, rich boy. JK, but yeah, I do't have an Emperor...

Great job PD! I love the balcony's build and I love the gun rack. The wookiee flier is pretty good too. Vos's head is a little... odd. When I first saw the bird I thought it was a rip off of Revo's deflector sheild, then a read it and thought that it was very creative. Great job, keep it up!

Yeah, I saw that head lying around and was like "Yeah! Quinlan!" And as for the bird, I found the pieces just lying there so I put em' together...

Great MOC, Pd! You found a great use for my kashyyyk scout I see.

Yeppers! He really has a lot of uses.

I like the platform a lot! Great job with the use of the brown pieces on that. My only suggestion is maybe to make the bottom a bit bigger.

Nice! This is pretty sweet. The platform is pretty good...but your wookieecopter needs work.

Yeah, I know.... I need to get rid of that lime hinge, and make the two brown poles shorter...

Indeed this is very nice work Pdragon. As everyone as already said the wookiee craft could use some work. Also, what is that gun rack thing supposed to be as photographed in the last picture? Quinlon Vos was a great touch that many people don't know about Kashyyyk, but I think the face selection was a bit of a poor choice. Also why is he carrying a gun and a lightsaber? The tan pillar leading up to the platform works, but it's a little distracting. I think black or brown round pieces would be a better fit there- plus then you could throw some moss/seaweed pieces on it. The platform however is a very clever design, that I'm actually still looking at. My only complaint there are those tan 1x2 bricks at the corners- switch em to brown if possible. Fix that bird up, because I don't think Kashyyyk had transparent blue birds (but I could be wrong), however they did have dragonfly creatures Great work.

Thanks, and doesn't Obi-wan use a blaster and a lightsaber at one point? And as for the bird...I think I got mixed up with Felucia... 'oh: And the tanpieces are the only ones I've got... all my other brown pieces are 1x4 bricks.. And the gun rack is supposed to be just that. A gun rack...

Yes, Obi-Wan shoots Grievous with a blaster on Utapau, but that's after he's lost his lightsaber. It just looks weird with Quinlon wielding a gun when he's got a saber too.

In all honesty, I'm not exactly impressed . Re-hashed Lego Rev grass technique, an okay Overator, a structurally disturbing landing pad (seriously -- how does that thing maintain it's altitude, and how could anyone land on such a rickety thing? ) and some minifigs.

It could use some work, yes, but it's an "average for your standard ."

Nice work PD. I like how it is built. The wookie flyer thing is very cool. And the foliage on the ground is well done. You should make a bigger MOC with this in it!

The top part is very nice looking.

The bottom on the other hand...

Hey, not bad! The Ornithopter could use some design work, and it'd be nice if the platform was more circular on top to fit with the outside frame you made for it, but nice job. Makes me want a Kashyyyk clone even more. XD
