What you need to know about stickers
Stickers. I bet you just think it's as simple as cut & apply, but for the best result it's a little more complicated.
1. Tools.
What you need is a knife to cut and apply them, put the sticker on the tip, it's most easy way of doing it right and precise.
You also need a pair of scissors, I get to that later.
2. Remove backing.
When you are cutting it out be sure to leave a flap of white like here. Then peel the backing off with your fingernail like this. The reason you have to peel it off at this flap is because peeling it off will slightly damage your sticker. Because you cut this off with the scissors afterwards, you will have no damage to your sticker!
3. Applying.
As said above use the tip of a knife, it will give you the most easy and precise way to applying.
If you want to add stickers to legs be sure you only put them on the lower part. If you put them on the upper part and you move the legs, they will get folded and damaged. Example of stickers on the lower part of the legs.
Note: Stickers can be applied to printed torsos. However a white one needs to be applied twice or else the print is still visible. You can also just use a plain white piece of sticker.
I hope this helps. If there's anything hard to understand be sure to ask me.

HOW TO MAKE STICKERS WITH AROUND THE HOUSE ITEMS
Ok, DP said I could post this, so here it is. This is a tutorial on how to make stickers from two easy-to-obtain objects. Clear Gloss Finish Scotch tape, and any type of 2 sided tape. I prefer the United States Postal Service brand tape, just because it is extra sticky. So let's get started!
Items you need: Clear tape, 2 sided tape, sticker, minifig to apply the sticker to, and scissors.(you can use a knife if you want to get really precise, I just don't, because it takes too long, and I usually screw up with it.)
First, you trim the sticker to the right size and shape. As DP showed, you can add a tab, but it isn't really need here because you aren't peeling any backing.
Next, get a strip of 2 sided tape out. I stick the end to the side of the despinser, just to keep it in place.
Then, you line up the bottom of the sticker with the edge of the tape. This also isn't necessary, but it is easier when it comes to trimming the tape.
Although it is hard to see in this picture, next, you want to put the clear tape on top. This will add shine to the sticker.
Then, you just trim the remaining tape and paper if there is any, and stick it to the fig!

Re: What you need to know about stickers
Right. All you need is a decal to print, and a peice of paper to print it on.
Re: What you need to know about stickers
667, if you are just going to use double sided tape, why print on sticker paper anyways?

Second time this has happened today...
Re: What you need to know about stickers
I don't know about that tape, but you can remove a normal sticker without damaging the torso.

Re: What you need to know about stickers
The decal looks okay, but if you think that's stuck on straight, you need glasses.
@667 & DP: Thanks for that guys, that should help a lot!

Then you certainly need better ones!
Seriously though, that paper decal's waaaay too big, and it's crooked. Try resizing it - and try some sticker paper; it sticks better to the torso, in my opinion.
Re: What you need to know about stickers
That's great for those that cannot get/afford sticker or decal paper, I wish I knew this when I first started out!! I'm sure alot of people will use this tutorial! 'nice one'.
As for it not being straight, shoot me down if you want! But dose it really matter?? Its just to show how it can be done, Isn't it??

It looks ok but yeah it does look a little crooked. The body, face and the arms are good but the legs need to be straighten out a little more in my opinion.
DON'T quote pictures! Read the constitution!

Re: What you need to know about stickers
Actually normal paper works pretty well. I have a sealer/glue/glaze material that I put over top of decals and it looks really nice .

Then I reiterate. It needs a lot of work. Please take in mind my advice, and next time it'll look fantastic, I have no doubt.

What kind of sticker paper should I use? The papery kind Or is there another kind?
Re: What you need to know about stickers
You can get transparent sticker paper, but for that you need a clean, white torso. So you could use white torsos, or brasso a clone torso in order to get it to be clean white...
I personally have no experience with stickers/decals, and am only assuming that they work logically.
