541st Vendetta #16: Clientele
Another MEH comic, and I'm serious this time. Experimented with some new techniques, n' what-not. Deeper storytelling is to come, I'm just paving the road with this
Re: 541st Vendetta #16: Clientele
Loved the dialog, and Alexis' backstory isn't half bad either.
Though the only reason you did that supernova at the end was to cover up a carpet, methinks. And the master is obviously the old Dark Jeedai at the end.

Nah. I was trying to do door glare. The bright light seeping into a really dark room. If I wanted to cover up carpet, I'd make a fake wall behind the door, or extend the set with some plates .
Re: 541st Vendetta #16: Clientele
Wow, I like how the plot is coming along.. Where have I heard this line before "take from the rich and give to the poor"??
Re: 541st Vendetta #16: Clientele
This was pretty cool. I loved the flashback, and have a good idea what will happen next...

That had a great story going there! I really liked the flashback bit, and the effects were neat-o!
Re: 541st Vendetta #16: Clientele
So, that is what Dooku's mother is. Seriously, that chant made my day.
Re: 541st Vendetta #16: Clientele

@ Brett: Gert, you say? I'm not sure that's in the dictionary.
@ comic: I find it interesting how everyone winds up calling women in command 'sir' instead of 'ma'am'. That just reminds you of the advanced awesomeness of commandos.

Huzzah, for English-language idiosyncrasies and RC fail .
Men are referred to as Sir, and women are referred to as Ma'am... unless they're in the military . Something I never really understood, but figured I better recognize .
Re: 541st Vendetta #16: Clientele
Nice, I like what you did with the rain effect. It added a bit of dread to the situation with the beggars. The Dooku chant made my day, today. I'd like to hear the rest to it. Ied's starting to become sarcastic, that's funny for a clone. Anyway, great as usual Sial, keep'em coming!

Please explain (if you are capable of more than that) to why you think that is.

Re: 541st Vendetta #16: Clientele
I reliezed, upon my return from Puerto Rico, that I was behind in Vendetta, so I read this. It's fairly good. I really like the backstory, even if it's a little fetched out of no where. Why would a Jedi free a another younger Jedi. That's the oppisite of the Jedi teaching of attachment, and, more over, why would he remove his face from memory?

Three words: Anakin Skywalker.
Yeah, yeah, it's technically two words, but I counted sky and walker as two separate words. Another of my witty escapings of the five word rule.

That's to be explained as the comic continues. I was hoping people wouldn't just assume that I have them all the backstory I'll ever give them in this one comic . We have one side of the story, the incomplete side of the story, from Alexis. More of the story can come from other sources.
The entire point of this is just to open up the beginnings of a major conspiracy in the Republic, headed up by the Jedi Order (however, with enough plausible deniability, so you could never REALLY say it's true ). A conspiracy which may just justify Order Sixty Six...
But...

You didn't hear it from me .

That will come with my third line of comics. Vendetta's just leading into it, wearing off the innocence of the Republic .

You're my hero now. I've always wanted a comic to make the Republic no better than how the CIS is portrayed. I had one in mind, but I've never had time, peices, or skill to make a true comic. Well, maybe at one time I did. Not anymore though.
Point is... You're my newest hero, following in the foot steps of such fiction characters as General Grievous and such real characters as Billy Mayes.

Don't bite off more than you can chew. Especially if you want to keep it canon.

Nonsense! I've got a big mouth. But the nifty attribute of conspiracies is that they're just hearsay, nonsense, the babblings of lunatics. Ied could spout off all sorts of nonsense about the Jedi Order trying to do one bad deed, or another; but there's no evidence. So long as I never present any hard proof, any conclusive events, anything that is factual, I can still keep it "canon" . Nothing but shadows, coincidences, chance events and complicated speech will hint onto darker workings .
Re: 541st Vendetta #16: Clientele
So you're saying when Order 66 comes, presumable in the third series chronicling the 501st, can we say Ied will feel little to no qualms in carrying out said order?

The 501st'll have nothing to do with it, the bastages. Ied, however, will be stuck with a choice of sorts. And it isn't as linear as most of them are (kill/no kill) . Jinja will give me hell for all this conspiracy and O66 plotting, but I don't care. It's going to be awesome, provided I execute it properly .
