Two New WWII Scenes
Both to be entered in the WWII LEGO Group at Flickr. First is a almost complete redo to, Deep In Occupied France. Second is just using a new brick wall technique, and yes I used some putty to hold the walls down.

That wall technique is quite nice, if a little crooked in some places.

Re: Two New WWII Scenes
The brick wall is great, I love that technique. The first scene is decent, nothing special but pretty accurate.
It is war you know, everything is crooked. Especially the Führer!

Re: Two New WWII Scenes
I liked the first scene better but people seem to love that brick wall so much.

Re: Two New WWII Scenes
Hey, I want a comment here.
Wall is bamf, cover the end studs on a few of them, but not all.
The other one is your average. Nice trees, needs more though, like a focal point.

Re: Two New WWII Scenes
One of my only complaints on the first one is the path: if it's the place where people are walking, it should be lower than the surrounding terrain. Either that, or at least make the path level with the rest of the base plate. Ideally, I'd make the grass one stud higher.
With the second one, I like the idea of the brick wall, but of course I'd say that because it's the focus. But I don't like that you used putty. Finding a way to get that good idea to work while only using Lego pieces would've made the challenge more impressive.
In a nutshell; there's room for improvement. They're nice little MoCs, but have nothing too complex. Though I do like brick wall idea; I'd love to see you revist that in a completely purist manner.

Re: Two New WWII Scenes
Woah most comments on my MOCs ever.
Anyways thanks, and SithF I was a bit short on time (contest deadline is midnight) so I just had to use that, I'm going back to see if there is any other way.

Re: Two New WWII Scenes
I love the first one and I immediately recognised it before I read what it was. The forest is neatly done but I don't like the trees. The trunks are way too high in comparison to the amount of leaves they have. Maybe make trees like I do: 3 bricks - leave - brick - leave - brick - leave, etc.

Ah thank you DP, I was waiting for you.
I've been trying to find a better way to do trees... maybe I'll use yours in upcoming MOCs.
