ARES Class Battle Mech V2

Well with the constructive criticism I received from my last mech built I have slightly improved the design.







The mechs head can rotate all around the pivot point and can stand on its own unlike the previous model, the legs have also been slightly improved.

Much better. The legs look more mech-like.

Yay! This looks much better! The head is nice, but doesn't really match the small chubby legs IMO...

Do you have any recommendations on to how to make the legs look supportive enough to hold a decently sized head without looking like a stack off of 2x2's? I've faced the grey 1x2 fence tiles inward so it looks much better but it still doesn't have enough "meat on its bones".

Very nice, the centered gun looks good.

Looks better. The legs now look stronger IMO.

Haha yep and all it took was to take off a plate and add some 1x2's then just put the joints on the back.

It's got an interesting shape and some good angles but something about the front is still bothering me. I think there might be too many grill plates. You've got them going in numerous directions on all sides of the mech. Try eliminating some of those plates and replacing them with some 1x2 tiles to even it out a little.

It's better than the first, but the white on the head looks out of place. I think a dark red, dark blue, or any other darker color would work better. The bulked-up legs did help a lot though.

I have changed it to dark red like you said and I hole heartily agree it does look much better.

I've faced the grey fence pieces inward and I've replaced the top leg grilles with those binoculars and the bottom grilles with 1x2 dark red plates. I've removed some other grilles and replaced them with various other pieces, once again you are brilliant.

Seems like your in for a wait. Whatever you do NEVER place a Moc on near the staircase when you have a dog. 'oh: I'll try to scavenge the wreckage. In the mean time here is a preview of the new legs.

For the better or for the worse, I can restart building the old model just as easily as the new.
