TFU Imperial Hangar (First Film!)
Well, my first ever stopmotion project was completed today. I ran out of time with some scenes, audio, sound effects, etc because of the project deadline being due today. Brickfilming takes waaaaaay more time and patience, as well as picture editing, than I ever expected. Those who do it on a constant basis such as Sithfilmer and Garet6- my hat is off to you guys! There is so much effort put into films! Anyways, my clip is about 30 seconds long, and obviously not the best out there since it's my first try. Nevertheless I'm fairly pleased with the results. It depicts Starkiller going to town on Imperial troops in an Imperial Hangar.
Played at 15fps and I used around 190 pictures.

Special thanks to Garet6 with turning me onto some tutorials and ideas.

What framerate did you use? It seemed choppy. It wasn't bad but it wasn't the best IMO. I feel a little perfectionist about it because I am a brickfilmer myself.legorevolution wrote:Well, my first ever stopmotion project was completed today. Re: TFU Imperial Hangar (First Film!)
We’ll bounty hunt your teacher if you don’t get an A+. Last time I did a brickfilm for a school project I receive 110 (with bonus wow factor point included of course). The only criticism I might have for it however would be wider shots. After getting to see the set you used I know that your shot radius doesn’t have to be that tight. Then again that is roughly the proportion presented in the game.
Re: TFU Imperial Hangar (First Film!)
That was different. I like it though.

That was short, but cool. Nice affects, an amazing job for your first try.

Re: TFU Imperial Hangar (First Film!)
Quite good for your first try, like said previously it was a bit choppy and slow but I think the problem is mostly the slow 15 frame rate. I prefer to use 25 frames per second because it is used on the big screen and much smoother. It also would help Immensely if you used actual laser effects, you can either use GIMP or LSMaker, I find that both work fine but GIMP gets a better end result and takes longer. Other then that great work I can see you spent a lot of time on this.

Re: TFU Imperial Hangar (First Film!)
Somewhat short, but I like the effects and result that you got for your first try. My only complaint (its kind of stupid, I know) is that the stormtroopers had blue shots instead of red (Yeah, this makes me look like a Star Wars freak, whatever).

'oh: You're so right Troopa. Ah! What a dumb blunder on my part. Nice catch though. I should be more aware next time. I don't know what I was thinking.
@Persian Prince- Your question has been answered in the edited version of my first post.
Thanks a lot guys!

Re: TFU Imperial Hangar (First Film!)
For a first film that's not half bad! Nice work, some extra sound effects would have been welcome and I think you could eeeeever so slightly speed up the frame rate, but in principle that was nicely done!
Re: TFU Imperial Hangar (First Film!)
Wow. If you hadn't said that it was your first attempt, I would have believed you are a seasoned pro such as Garet6. I wish my first attempt was that good.

A little short, but it was good. I have 2 compaints though, isn't blood red, not orange? And, wouldn't a lightsaber make a clean cur through the pilots neck? Otherwise, it was an amazing first attempt.

WOW! Great job for a first try. The only bad part is that it's a little jumpy otherwise great.

Those were saber marks on the wall, and perhaps the blade just grazed his neck.
Thanks guys!

If this is your first ever stop motion, than this is very good. Not bumping but I love the quality.
