The elements meet...
...and there was steam.
It took just a few minutes after I uploaded pictures on flickr for me to be told how I did something wrong. Apparently the water wall needs to be coming straight from the water, not the saturated sand, and to all the airbender fans I apologize for this inaccuracy. With that aside, I shall move onto the moc.
This was built off a 3-second scene in one of the trailers, so again I ask that you go easy on me when it comes to details of canon.
Making the wall of water was fun, and I also enjoyed playing with fire techniques.
I ended up having some fun with the water effects, even though it doubled the difficulty of a "simple, just-for-fun" vig.
Again this was just for fun, and built in the memory of a cool trailer for a bad movie.

Re: The elements meet...
Once again you never cease to astound me, I've got to say I'm quite surprised that water technique was never used before and is probably one of my favorite parts of the Moc.

Very nice, I like it. I don't know about Avatar, but it looks very detailed!

Re: The elements meet...
This is great! Love everything about it.
But personally, I would have rather seen Earth and Fire (even though their not opposites) face off.
They're my favorite two elements and can end up with great builds like this.

Re: The elements meet...
Well I was actually planning to do earth, but I had already tried those panel pieces for water, and I don't have any experience building rock formations yet, so I just went with what I had. I was actually afraid building the water would be a lot harder, but it ended up not being so bad.
Re: The elements meet...
Great job, even though it is a little inaccurate, it is still awesome. Oh by the way, shouldn't he guy in red be the firebender?

Re: The elements meet...
This is very nice, I just don't like those white pieces on the water. Maybe use clear pieces instead.
Re: The elements meet...
Nice, I think the firebender needs to wear red and black because thats what they wear in the cartoon.

Re: The elements meet...
My concerns:
*Represents what ever they are called in the movie because I don't know what they are called.
- The foaming of the ocean looks like snow.
- Why is the sand brown? You should have used dark tan or light tan all over.
- Why is there a bley outside?
- Add more dunes or make a "crater" where the level changes.
- The foam on the right side of the "water-wielder" looks unrealistic.
- The "fire-wielder"* looks too modern. Use a figure that has robes or something.
- The "water-wielder"* looks like he should be the "fire-wielder"* because he is wearing red.
- I realise that this is a "just for fun" vig, but it should be better, knowing you.

The elephants meet....
That'd be all I have to say, but I do have to have more than five words. So... I'd like to say this is a very good purist MOC.

*The foaming of the ocean looks like snow.-Agreed it's my first ocean, and there is a lot of room for improvement.
*Why is the sand brown? You should have used dark tan or light tan all over.-I wanted to use dark tan to simulate wet sand, but lamentably, I don't have the pieces.
*Why is there a bley outside?-It's a border, like on a picture frame. I've seen it done several times and thought I would try it out.
*Add more dunes or make a "crater" where the level changes.-I originally had a more uneven beach planned, but I guess I left it out, because it was the last thing I built and I was tired of working on it at the time.
*The foam on the right side of the "water-wielder" looks unrealistic.-You (and everyone else who has pointed this out) are right, it's too uniform and perfect. I'll see what I can do.
*The "fire-wielder"* looks too modern. Use a figure that has robes or something.-That's a simple fix.
*The "water-wielder"* looks like he should be the "fire-wielder"* because he is wearing red.-Also easily remedied.
*I realise that this is a "just for fun" vig, but it should be better, knowing you.-Thanks.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll see if I can give this an overhaul in the next few days.

Dude, they are fire and water benders not wielders!

I've seen the technique before, but really like it in this moc. I thought those were transparent solar panel pieces in the first pic. Diggin' the weeds 'n stuff beneath the water.
Re: The elements meet...
Wow, I never saw the view of the water, that looks insanely cool! I love all the design you put in it!
