Welcome to Raxus Prime
Some of you may know that I have been working on a massive Raxus Prime WIP (96x96), so to keep the build fresh, and not to become dull, I have decided to build in sections. This is a 32x32 portion of it that I've spent about 2 weeks on. Legorevo said that I needed to take a vehicle and smash it, break it and give it some scratches. Since the MOC takes place during the CW, I decided to take on a portion of the turbo tank. My main inspiration was the Star Wars cross-section book by DK. All in all, enjoy, and C@C welcome!

Re: Welcome to Raxus Prime
Very nice! I think the detailing is especially good. Well done on another great MOC!

WOW! The detail on the crashed ship is amazing.

Re: Welcome to Raxus Prime
WOW! Looks really nice, can't wait for the completion of it!
How big is it going to be compared to this?
/goes to calculate some info.
Wow! The whole thing will be about 2.75 times this right now! (Will there be enough room for everything?)
Nice job so far, can't wait for more!

It's a tank actually. You're new to this, aren't you?

No, I'm not new at this, I just don't watch the TV show. I also only skimmed the description.
By the way Knight, what did you use to for the clone's blaster shots?

Ok, sorry about that. By the way, the shots appear to be cut up lightsaber blades and blue nosecones.

That's what I was leaning towards, but I thought they might be those crystals from Power Miners or something.

Damn Knight, you are 10x better then when you first came to this site. No joke.
I really like this MOC... But there is one thing I don't like. The tank. I honestly can't tell that its a tank. If you hadn't told me I would have thought it was a big piece of random junk or something like that. Maybe if had some type of "identifier" ie: tracks leading up to it ect it would be easier to see that it was a tank. Other then that I think this is a all around good MOC, or should I say section of a much bigger MOC?

Knight said it's the head of a Turbo Tank (which is mostly noticeable in the 4th pic). Not an actual tank.Bizzle wrote:Damn Knight, you are 10x better then when you first came to this site. No joke.

Great job Knight! I instantly saw the Turbo Tank! I love all the scraps and greebles as well!

Nope, not cut, 1x3 lightsaber blades. I'm 100% purist, not cutting, gluing, painting, ect... for me.

Re: Welcome to Raxus Prime
This looks great so far. I love how you pulled Rodians into play here. My only complaint is that I think you overdid the crashed tank's greebles...but that's just IMO.

Agreed. The tank's greebling on the outside are too much. Otherwise, it would look perfect!
Re: Welcome to Raxus Prime
Ah, this is excellent. I love the Over-Greebled look of it. Also, I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this, but that's a nice brick-built DC-15 you have there. Attaching a headlight to the black Bionicle clip was a clever idea.
I'm loving this Knight, can't wait to see the final product!

Re: Welcome to Raxus Prime
Excellent work young one. You're doing a great job with detail. The center round park of the turbo tank junk (?) really caught my eye. I also like how you did the rotary blaster. My only suggestion is perhaps make some junk a little more piled up and reaching for height because when we think Raxus Prime, we think mountains of broken junk. However, I can't really complain because that takes an extraordinary amount of pieces, and might take away from some of the focal points in the moc. I like where you're taking this.
Re: Welcome to Raxus Prime
Great moc though I think you meant to say this is a 32x32 since I counted them.
Love the details and it doesn't look like a thrown up mess like some people do with the same idea.

Re: Welcome to Raxus Prime
This is a awesome looking MOC knight!
I am not a big fan of this MOC from you. To much junk! Yes I said it, it has to much of a junk effect then a blown up turbo tank effect.. When I first saw this, I went huh?. Then I read your description saying it was a blown up turbo tank. You want it to look like a peice a pie with a little whip cream on top. Not a piece of pie with whip cream all over it so it just looks like a hump of whip cream. You have over done the blown up effect. I think you should through some more bigger pieces of the turbo tank into this MOC. How about the tank is missing all 8 wheels and they are laying around. The whole middle part of the tanks is blown up and there is no roof. That way the Rodian's can use it as a hide out. This way everyone can see what it is without reading any description.
But don't get me wrong, this still looks good.

Ah, someone finally noticed! I used it in my Naboo assault, and anyone is free to use it, just give credit.

There's always room to add some more junk, since I'll be taking sections of this and placing them on a new base plate, I'll be sure to add some more.

That's what Raxus Prime is, an over greebled planet. So more whip cream than pie. Also, the Turbo Tank won't be the main destruction for the MOC.

Re: Welcome to Raxus Prime
I actually really like this. It's hard to do a planet like Raxus Prime in lego because usually you either get some sort of over greebled mess that can't be distingushed as anything, or a severly under-greebled look. But it seems with your creation, with the addition of that bit of sewage and solid ground in the corner, you've shown that it is indeed a planet and that planet is Raxus Prime. I also like the variations in the Rodian heads.
Re: Welcome to Raxus Prime
There are variations in the gray, but it makes it feel even more like Raxus Prime. The variations in the rodians are nice.
