717th Sniper
I've always wanted to make a purist sniper with bi-pod, and I finally found a solution. Take two black (or bley) rangefinders, insert them into the vents of a technic pin, and bam! You now have a purist bi-pod. It looked odd having them at the barrel, so I added another rangefinder (Zeessi's technique) to add some length. This is also the start of my legion.

Re: 717th Sniper
If you don't mind me saying, I've been working with the 707th as my legion ever since I signed onto the CABG, and it's my legion in the 457th on Flickr. Although I've never made an actual thread, this situation is quite... awkward.
Anyway, I think the bipod is a pretty clever idea. However, can you extend the barrel and put the bipod at a 90 degree angle?

Good thing I haven't posted a topic yet. It'll be switched. The connection is very delicate, if moved. I haven't tweaked with it enough to answer that question. I'll look into it though.

Re: 717th Sniper
That bipod is very clever, but I also like what you've done as a purist with that clone. Good job.
Re: 717th Sniper
Is that backpack a standard LEGO piece? I've never seen that before.
The sniper looks good although I would have prefered the use of the bley rangefinders for the bipod because the gun itself is black.

Neither have I.Troopa Daisy wrote:Is that backpack a standard LEGO piece? I've never seen that before.
Also, best Bipod I have ever seen is the Brickarms official Bipod.
Re: 717th Sniper

That combo of the clone w/backpack is pretty kickarse if you ask me. The bi-pod is nice too, I wish the legs could be on a slant though.

Do you mean angled, so the gun could be pointed at an angle, or the prongs being split at a 90 degree angle?Comrade Faie wrote:That combo of the clone w/backpack is pretty kickarse if you ask me. The bi-pod is nice too, I wish the legs could be on a slant though.
@- JP, The prongs can move forward and back, but can't be angled sideways.

Re: 717th Sniper
Awesome sniper! Whenever i've tried putting in the antenna as a scope it just didn't look right. This technique is much more efficient. May I copy it? If not, it's fine.
Re: 717th Sniper

EDIT: Sheesh! I really gotta read some of the other posts !

Re: 717th Sniper
That looks really cool and I found it to be rather inspirational. I tried it out myself and found that it suits the new ARF Trooper perfectly. I even went ahead to try and design another purist sniper rifle which looked as good as this.
