Clone Army Customs
Does anyone happen to know how I can get in contact with Tyler Page, the creator of Clone Army Customs? I ordered $181 worth of his creations in March of 2010 for my son's birthday. Over the course of time, I sent him countless emails. Tyler finally responded to an email in December of 2011. He was apologetic about losing my son's order and indicated that he would send it out on December 20th, 2011. It is now January 31, 2012, and I have not yet received the order. My son has now been completely devastated twice by these circumstances. He just wants to get his Clone Army Customs from Tyler. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

I not sure how you would get a hold of him anymore, especially after you emailed so much. That really doesn't sound like him at all. Everyone I know that's ever ordered from him has gotten to them. Sorry to hear that then.

Re: Clone Army Customs
Remember we are not Clone Army Customs. He has an account here Wuzzupbob, but he doesn't go on anymore. To be honest there's not much you can do but wait and hope he sends it. When I bought mine almost 2 years ago I waited for about a year. So ya. You could try to contact him on his Flickr though and see if he responds.
Hope that helped and best of luck to you.

Re: Clone Army Customs
Yeah I've noted several times that Clone Army Customs has been severally back ordered. Here's a link to the most recent reminder to CABG users:

Personally if you've paid via PayPal or Visa I'd retract your purchase. To me a website that isn't up front about how far they're back ordered isn't worth doing business with. I have several of minifigures and they are awesome but I won them in contests or exchanged them for services rendered. To pay for an item and wait that long would not be worth it personally.

Re: Clone Army Customs
Plus, making them yourself is a lot more fulfilling, and your son will definitely think that you're the best dad in the world. Well, every good father is, I guess. And you can make it look like anything your son wants, AND have a minifig of the month on the CABG. It's a win-win-win!
Re: Clone Army Customs
Good point. Buying decal paper and making the decals is fairly simple, and there are tutorials here. The biggest issue is buying the minifigures to customize our deciding which to alter of the minifigures you already have.
Re: Clone Army Customs
Yeah I imagine he is disappointed. I once waited a long time for mine, but I still got it. Also for having to wait for so long he sent a freebie. It may take a long time, but trust me you will get your order. I understand how much work he has ahead of him so that's why it's taking so long. He's constantly having to close the store for orders because he can't keep up.
Re: Clone Army Customs
Thanks for the feedback and encouragement. At the end of the day, it is really discouraging when someone writes this on December 17th and still does not deliver a birthday present to a young boy...

Hello Mark,
I am so sorry about the lack of communication. Your emails were being filtered to the spam folder (which is why I check every so often to avoid this).
Your order was marked as shipped when apparently it was not, and since i didn't see your other emails I assumed everything was all right.
I sincerely apologize for this and will get your order out tuesday morning when i go to the post office and be sure to throw in some extras for the inconvenience.
Thank you for your purchase and your communication.

I even emailed him since from my work email address to try and avoid the stated spam issue. Yet, no response. Very sad.

Re: Clone Army Customs
Yeah that blows. There lot of great customizers out there that have more reliable service. Here's one of our members (Eclipsegrafx) that to my understanding is reliable in his services. I got to meet him a convention this last summer and picked up quiet a few lovely customs from him.

I know Wuzzupbob (Tyler) started doing this when he started University and I fear his studies, job, life are more important than his “hobby”. Where as Eclipsegrafx is married with children and is an IT Professional that runs a small Lego related product business as well.

Re: Clone Army Customs
Thanks again for all the help. I was fearful that I would receive a lot of backlash for posting a negative experience with Clone Army Customs(Tyler Page), but you have all been great and very supportive. My son's birthday is coming up again in April. Maybe, he will try one of these other sites. In the meantime, I am continuing to work all available avenues to try and get Tyler to do the right thing.

Re: Clone Army Customs
Nah anytime you pay for something and don't get it within reasonable amount of time there that's an issue personally. I've gotten stuff from Tyler that took him about 4-6months and that was too long to wait personally. To me 1-3 months is reasonable when you consider making and shipping the product. The problem with Tyler is he takes orders and then fills them. Whereas personally he should build minifigures and then a they should read as "Sold Out" on his webpage, until he's made another batch. That's difference between a business as a "hobby" vs. a true business. Tyler is also young enough that this is something he is still learning. The best thing for him would to have a partner that handles the business end, while he handled the "art department". His work is truly excellent but lacks the organization needed to run a business of that scale. I know he's back logged 200-300 minifigures sometimes and then has to shut down his site until gets them all done. To top it off sounds like from you December email from him he may have missed placed your order too. Hopefully though if you go by his previous delay on orders he'll have yours to you this month.
